UPDATE: Juan Gabriel's death certificate was released. Cause of death was arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Contributing factors were hypertension and diabetes mellitus. He also had a history of pneumonia. He died at 11 Marine Terrace Rd in Santa Monica. His legal residence is in the US at his home at Southwest Ranches, Broward, Florida.

Alberto Aguilera Valadez also known as singer, musician, Mexican icon Juan Gabriel was born January 7, 1950 in Paracuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. His father was Gabriel Aguilera Rodriguez a farmer (April 10, 1908 to April 1950). His mother was Victoria Valadez Rojas (1912-December 27, 1974).

His siblings were Gabriel Aguilera Valadez, Jose Guadelupe Aguilera Valadez, Pablo Aguilera Valadez Rafaele Aguilera Valadez, Miguel Aguilera Valadez, Rosa Aguilera Valadez, Virginia Aguilera Valadez Dedomacio (1932-2004).

Alberto Aguilera Valadez aka Juan Gabriel had four boys with his "best friend" Laura Elena Salas Campas. Juan Gabriel passed away in Santa Monica, California August 28, 2016. I'd met him a few times at local restaurants, events and he was always very nice and cordial. While my family and I knew who he was as we grew up with his music others did not. That's probably why he spent a bit of time here in California.
