UPDATE: I finally pulled up more documents. Shorty stated in his book he was found guilty of attempted murder because he shot people with a gun. He bragged that everyone shot their guns but only he with his guns actually shot someone. He bragged he carried guns in high school. Not true.
He was found guilty of 245(a)(1) "assault by means which would produce injury," GBI (great bodily injury) ADW (assault deadly weapon) "not firearm." Lying fraud, fake wanna be "attempted murderer," fake gang member, didn't shoot anyone, didn't fire a gun! Also not a gang member. Definitely not the "four foot gang leader of a black gang."
Here are a few documents. I have lots more to post later. He did try to change his name. One fake reason in 2008 was "religious." In his book he admitted he was raised Catholic but didn't believe. He stated he later became "religious" as a reason to change his name in 2010. His name change is for "religious," and "entertainment" reasons.

I just read Shorty's book. In Shorty's book be lies to make himself appear to be a high school drop out. He admits he went to high school David Starr Jordan High School in Long Beach but states he transferred to Fremont High after someone tried to kill him. Then he states he dropped out of Fremont. He actually graduated from David Starr Jordan High School and was a member of the journalism club. Most people lie about the opposite. I guess this is part of his "story" to sell himself as a motivational speaker. I just remembered that in interviews Shorty states he graduated from Fremont High.
Shorty lies about his criminal sentence in his book. He stated he was found guilty of attempted murder, attempted robbery, some gun charges but was found not guilty of conspiracy. He was actually was found not guilty of attempted murder. He was found guilty of attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon but the weapon was not a gun. Shorty lies and states he was guilty of attempted murder when he wasn't. I assume the "story" sells more "motivational speaking engagements." The conspiracy charges also blow a hole in his story that he was just picked up by friends to go for a ride and meet girls and then shit caused by others went down.
In the book Shorty tries to argue that his real middle name is Luigi. He says he asked his mom what is his real name. He said he has two birth certificates. She said it was Melvin Louis Rossi or Melvin Luigi Rossi. There is only one birth certificate. His name is "Melvyn L Rossi." If I were to order the document, it would say "Melvyn Louis Rossi." He has the same name as his dad which is why he's the II. Here is the text of his birth certificate. Only a certain number of characters can be in the text version. They abbreviate the middle name then last name. His first arrest records in 1988 show Melvyn Louis Rossi. I assume he just wants to sound Italian.

Shorty stated he legally changed his name. Per his DUI arrest he didn't. He also was on probation then violated again. In the book he said his DUI scared him straight. Not so. Also, notice "fugitive status." That means he failed to appear. Case status is "warrant." That appears to mean there is a warrant out for his arrest. I just pulled this up today.

In the book Shorty says he's a business man, an entrepreneur, he would never go bankrupt. He went bankrupt personally when he had Short Entertainment. He said he started the Watts Youth Foundation which became Shorty's Charity. Shorty's Charity has never filed a 990. They will lose their non-profit IRS standing soon.
Shorty falsely stated that LA Animal Services, LA Animal Control render the dogs they kill then sell that to feed cows. That is false. LA Animal Services, LA Animal Control pay D&D to take and render the animals. Rendered animals can never be made into human or animal feed. It gets shipped to Asia to feed farmed shrimp and fish. Then Asia sells us that shrimp and fish. Shorty lets loose false stories about his life and other matters.
Shorty basically brags that he was the Lord of all the gangs in California prison. I have a feeling that's not true either. Who would really know when the witnesses are all incarcerated.
Shorty also bragged that while everyone else shot their guns in the shootout, only his bullets hit people. He forgets that a bystander was accidentally shot. That means he was aiming at a gang member and accidentally shot an innocent bystander. Two people were shot so I assume Shorty is taking credit for both shots.
The one thing I learned was that young offenders under the age of 25 can go to California Youth Authority to try to turn their lives around. I didn't know that program existed. I think it's a good thing. Unfortunately if they are still serving their sentence by the age of 25 they go to adult prison with hard core life long criminals.
Shorty states he enjoyed his time at California Youth Authority and everyone there loved him. Then why did he sue them twice while incarcerated there? He lost both times. He sued for prisoner's rights.

I heard Shorty got married. If I hadn't heard that he'd gotten married, I wouldn't have decided to finally check out his real history. I felt sorry for the woman who was allegedly his bride. She looked miserable in the pic like she was being held at gunpoint at the edge of a cliff.
His real history is that he's fabricated almost all of his life story. He wasn't born a poor black boy, member of the Bloods gang in the hood with a mean daddy. He doesn't have a rags to riches story. He came from a solid middle class plus family then destroyed his own life by being an ass. He went bankrupt on his own. He fabricated the life story to get acting jobs and sell himself as a "motivational speaker." His BS story is how he got PitBoss. I can't believe he begged me to share those links far and wide to all my pages, groups, friends and I did months before there was a show. If I'd known he was a fraud, I wouldn't have done that. What a bunch of BS.

Melvyn Louis Rossi was born on February 10, 1969. His father is Melvyn Louis Rossi born September 18, 1936 in Bexas, Texas. His mother is Dixie Lee Brown born March 13, 1937 in Los Angeles, California. They were married January 13, 1962 in Los Angeles, California.
His parents lived in Reseda until 1984. They owned a house here 18320 Lorne St, Reseda, CA. They bought it in 1974 and sold it in 1984. Then they moved to Long Beach, California then to San Antonio, Texas.

Sonny went to Thomas A Edison High School in San Antonio, Texas, USA class of 1954. Here are some pics of him in electric class and as Vice President of his Junior Class. He doesn't seem quite as miserable as his son makes him out to be. He's smiling and joined groups in high school. If the kids were that mean to him, I doubt he would have joined groups or been the VP of his Junior class. Maybe Shorty made up that story like he did the others.

Melvyn Rossi stated he went to John C Freemont High School in South LA graduating in 1987. He actually went to David Starr Jordan High School, Long Beach, California, USA graduating in 1987. He states he was sentenced to prison for attempted murder. That's not true. He said he was underage at the time which is false. He was 18 almost 19. He was originally charged with attempted murder. That part is true. He wasn't found guilty of attempted murder.

Five teenagers were charged Tuesday in connection with a five-hour series of shooting incidents that left at least two people injured, authorities said.

Griffin said the first of the events took place when the youths began firing at a motorcyclist at 6th and Olive streets.
They were arrested by California Highway Patrol officers after the patrolmen witnessed the attempted robbery and shooting of Filiberto Rojas Castillo, 32, at a Huntington Park gas station. Castillo, who was wounded in the abdomen, was listed in good condition, Griffin said.
Earlier, Charles Johnson, 28, was shot and wounded in the chest as he walked down a street in South Gate. He was hospitalized for two days and released.
In a third incident, Lesley Dee Baggett, 42, managed to escape gunfire while walking in the 500 block of Boyle Avenue, Griffin said.
Griffin said detectives believe that other victims may have been struck by bullets fired from one of two weapons confiscated from the suspects, a .22-caliber rifle and a .32-caliber revolver.
"They hit them. We just haven't found them yet," the detective said.
In South Gate Municipal Court Tuesday,
Melvin Louis Rossi, of Los Angeles, Louis Howard Price, of Perris, and Donte Deon Warren, of Los Angeles pleaded not guilty to three counts of attempted murder and two counts of attempted robbery. All are 18.
Two juveniles, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, were charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery and were scheduled to be arraigned today in Compton Juvenile Court.
The juveniles and Warren attend Cleveland High School in the San Fernando Valley, the district attorney's office said. Griffin said it is unclear whether they are gang members."
Turns out Rossi was acquitted of attempted murder. He was found guilty of attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Shorty states there was an article stating "four foot tall leader of a black gang." I can't find it in any archive. In fact the articles stated "it is unclear whether they are gang members."
Shorty Rossi did appeal his conviction. He lost. It was affirmed.

Here in California if you are with people who rob someone or commit murder, you are guilty of the same crime just by being with them even if you didn't touch the person. That is what happened to Shorty.
It appears they put him in with children when he was arrested even though he was almost 19. They kept him with juveniles until he turned 25.

In this LA Times article he said he was making $350,000 a year and lived in San Francisco. He also lied and said he grew up in a South LA housing project.

Shorty Frances Luigi Rossi also sued under the Americans with Disability Act. He lost. Plaintiffs had to pay Defendant's costs.

This first lawsuit was because he left another little person's business but kept the domain names. They ended up settling. Rossi gave the names back. He basically started the same business as his boss.

This lawsuit is for conversion which basically means taking something for one purpose and keeping it or using it for another purpose.
While Melvyn Rossi was in California state prison he sued the prison system twice for prisoner civil rights. He proceeded as indigent and represented himself. Both cases were dismissed as he did not file things timely or properly. Based on the docket the Judge gave him many chances to rectify the situation. It appears Melvyn just lost interest in the case and probably didn't have any real claims. These are just the parties. I found no documents.
As he was 18 when charged actually almost 19 I don't know why he was in the California Youth Authority system. Did they put him in with kids under 18 so he would be safer? He seems to have sued the prison work, education program, hard to tell.
