Who is J. P. Sears, Jonathan Patrick Sears the Internet's most hilarious, spiritual Ginger? Everything you always wanted to know and more!

J P Sears, Jonathan P Sears, ginger, spiritual as hell, awaken with JP, ohio, san diego, california, south carolina, family, ancestry, ginge, red head, carrot top, mother, father, dna, family tree, heritage, irish, english, amber zuckswert, allison sears, charles sears, margaret sears, meg mallon sears, barbara evans, lucius sears, mary catherine winkler mallon, joseph mallon, mcdonald, mary cummins, los angeles, california, chek institute, holistic coaching institute, columbus, holistic coach advanced practitioner, john mcmullin, journeys of wisdom, healing, emotional, comedian, healer, fitness, nutrition, holistic health & fitness consultant, holistic lifestyle coach, holistichealthandfitness.com, awakenwithjp.com, self-righteous
Who is JP Sears the YouTube viral video star and "spiritual" comedian? When I first saw his hilarious videos I thought it was only a comedy act. JP basically makes fun of  self-righteous "spiritual" people. Turns out JP Sears is a real life "Holistic Health and Fitness Consultant" who trained for years in emotional wellness, lifestyle coaching, and functional fitness. He also consults about nutrition. He's making fun of himself and other self-righteous people and groups in the spiritual field. Who better to do that than JP who has lived in the spiritual community for over half of his life. I know I could definitely make a video or two about self-righteous vegans and animal rights activists.

JP Sears real name Jonathan Patrick Sears was born April 12, 1981 (or May 1981) in Ohio. His father is Charles "Charlie" Richard Sears b. 1951. His mother is Margaret "Meg" Ellen Mallon Sears b. 1955. JP has a sister named Allison "Ali" Sears Epperson who is not a ginge though she's pretty funny herself. For Halloween she dressed up as JP, flower headband, tshirt, yoga pants and all. JP also has two adorable nieces and a nephew.

This past June JP married Amber Lee Zuckswert b. 1985 from Santa Cruz, California. Amber is also a "spiritual" person specializing in Vinyasa yoga, dance, Pilates while running a business called Epic Self. Amber sells expensive retreats, training sessions and yoga classes besides videos on diet and exercise. She sells three months "Transform Me" packages for $2,500. She meets with you online once a week for three months. She also sells $11,500 yoga teacher training classes! Seems spirituality is big business!

Per JP himself he was insecure and unaware of himself and his emotions in his early 20's. He dropped out of college and was not happy with his life. That caused him to seek a path to enlightenment. He took classes at the Holistic Coaching Institute in Columbus, Ohio. After meeting Paul Chek he took classes at C.H.E.K. Institute in Vista, California working his way up the many certification levels of the program. He also hooked up with John McMullin of "Journeys of Wisdom." These were his early mentors.

JP ended up working as a consultant for CHEK from 2006 to 2013. Around 2008 he started his own website Holistic Health and Fitness offering in person and phone consulting plus speaking engagements. By 2013 he started a new website "Inner Awakenings, Living a More Meaningful Life." He'd operated his consulting services in North San Diego, California.

In 2014 JP released his first humorous "Spiritual" video "How to be Ultra Spiritual" which went viral and launched his present career. By 2017 his previous website forwarded to his current website "Awaken with JP." In 2017 he released his book "How to be Ultra Spiritual, 12 1/2 steps to Spiritual Superiority." I haven't read it but I'm sure it's pretty funny. JP, courtesy copy for a review? ;-)

He was located out of South Carolina but just moved to Austin, Texas. As you can see from his websites he offers consulting, retreats, speaking engagements, premium services and fun tshirts, head bands and tight yoga pants.

Here are some pics of JP from back in the day. The longer hair is a more recent evolution of his spiritual style. Back in the day he looked like a fitness instructor from the gym who wants to sell you expensive supplements and protein powders.

JP is a Ginger, a Ginge. I'm very familiar with gingers and their life struggles as my sis is a ginge. Thank god I am not a ginge! Being a ginger girl is easy except for major sun burns, heat strokes, vomiting and passing out if you're in the sun more than three minutes. Being a ginger boy is a lot more difficult. They get teased in school because they're super white and have neon orange hair. Girls tend to prefer non-gingers unless said ginger is Prince Harry. This may have contributed to his early lack of self worth which led him on the path to enlightenment and getting a super buff body with shredded abs.

Looking into JP's past he does indeed come from the land o' the gingers, Ireland. Below is his family tree to his great great grandparents. JP gets the ginge from his mother's side of the family. His mother is just about 100% Irish. While some of her family was born in England they were initially from Ireland.

JP is a Son of the American Revolution. He is a direct descendant of Richard Sears 1595 -  September 26, 1676 whose children fought in the revolutionary war. 20,000 other people are also descended from Richard Sears or Sares. Here is a website dedicated to the descendants of Richard Sears. I only took the tree back to Richard Sears who came here from the Netherlands. JP Sears is of Netherlands, Ireland, English, German descent so far. Richard is JP's great great great great great great great great great grandfather aka nine times great grandfather. Here's a painting of Richard Sears.

Below is JP's family tree showing only five generations.

Back to JP's immediate family, his grandparents. Paternal grandfather was Lucius "Jack" Jackson Sears from Ohio. What family member wrote this and included the bit about the bank fine? Obits are supposed to be positive unless the writer is me and the obits are about a racist family member. From his obituary,

"LUCIUS JACKSON 'JACK' SEARS, JR., 1916-2005

Lucius Jackson "Jack" Sears, Jr., retired president and then chief executive officer of his family's office supply company who was active with the Boy Scouts of America for more than 75 years, died Thursday in his home at the Swan Creek Retirement Village. He was 89.

Mr. Sears is believed to have suffered heart failure, said a son, Charles Sears, who was with him when he died.

Mr. Sears went to work for the Franklin Office Products Co. in 1941, two years after graduating from the University of Toledo with a bachelor of business administration degree. He worked previously for the former Lamson's department store in order to get business experience outside the family environment, his son said.

After Pearl Harbor, he volunteered for the U.S. Coast Guard, with which he served for 4 1/2 years and reached the rank of lieutenant junior grade during World War II.

Mr. Sears worked his way up through the ranks at Franklin and became president in December, 1963, succeeding his father. In December, 1981, he was elected chairman and chief executive officer. He retired in 1996 when the business was sold to U.S. Office Products.

A Boy Scout in his youth, Mr. Sears served as a local Cubmaster and Scoutmaster, was on the Erie Shores Council, and led a U.S. troop that traveled to the 1971 World Jamboree in Japan. In 1956, he received the group's Silver Beaver Award, honoring "distinguished service to young people within a BSA local council."

"He was very proud of being associated with the Boy Scouts of America," son Charles said, noting that his father attended board meetings up until several months ago.

Mr. Sears was active in numerous civic and business organizations, including Goodwill Industries of Toledo, the Toledo Area Council of Churches, Rotary, and the American Legion.

He also was a director of First Federal Savings & Loan Association for 20 years, ending with his resignation when a loan scandal struck the local institution in 1990. Mr. Sears later paid an undisclosed civil fine assessed by the federal Resolution Trust Corp., which took over the failed thrift.

Mr. Sears' wife of 64 years, Barbara, died in 2003. Surviving are his sons, Charles and Norman Sears, and four grandchildren."

JP's paternal grandmother was Barbara Ripley Evans born in Palo Alto, California 1916 - 2003. Only a one line obit with name and date of death.

JP's maternal grandfather was Joseph Bernard Mallong. JP looks like grandpa. From his obituary,

JP's maternal grandfather Joseph B Mallon.

"MALLON Joseph B. Joseph B. Mallon, of Sylvania Twp., passed away, following a brief illness, on Thursday, October 8, 2009, ten days after his 81st birthday. He was surrounded by three generations of his loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Joe was born in Toledo on September 29, 1928, to John and Kathleen (McDonald) Mallon. He was a 1947 graduate of Central Catholic High School and two years later married his high school sweetheart, Mary Catherine Winkler. They celebrated almost 60 years of marriage, raising four children and enjoying their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe worked in the wholesale appliance business for many years. After retiring, he remained active and selflessly gave of himself to anyone in need. Joe was a former member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and for the past thirty years, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary; children, Mary Anne (Dave) Borer, of Toledo, Tim (Cindy) Mallon, of Sunbury, OH, Pat (Marian) Mallon, of Toledo, and Meg (Charlie) Sears, of Bowling Green; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack. Visitation will be held at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, on Sunday, October 11, 2009, from 3-8 p.m., where the Scripture service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday morning, prayers will be held at the Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sylvania. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery."

JP's maternal grandmother was Mary Catherine Winkler Mallon. From her obituary,

JP's maternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Winkler Mallon. This is where the bright blue eyes come from.

"MALLON Mary C. Mary C. Mallon passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mary was born in Toledo on June 18, 1928 to Roland and Margaret (Kilduff) Winkler. Affectionately known to friends and family as "Winkie," Mary attended Central Catholic High School where she met the love of her life, Joe Mallon. Mary and Joe were married on November 24, 1949, and enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and reading, but her primary interest was her family. Mary was preceded in death by her husband and sisters, Joanne Martin and Ellen Reisig. She is survived by her brother, Owen Winkler, and her children Mary Anne (Dave) Borer, Tim (Cindy), Pat (Marian), and Meg (Charlie) Sears. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will miss her ever present smile, sparkling eyes, quick wit, and sweet personality. Mary's family members would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Sunset Village for their loving care. Friends are invited to visit from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011 in the Ansberg - West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. where a Scripture Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Church in Sylvania. Interment in Calvary Cemetery."

There you have it, the history of the ginger super ultra spiritual guide better known as JP Sears. The article was made in response to a request for JP's ancestry from one of our genealogy fans. Fans, next time pick a more well known person. Because I'd seen this guy's videos I thought he'd be more popular. There have only been 44 hits on this article in two days! I write articles about cute puppies and get hits in the thousands ;-)

UPDATE: After I did this research and looked at JP and his wife's page, I realized they are total hypocrites.

Below is 2006 article about the fall of law firm Milberg Weiss. "The fall of America's meanest law firm. Milberg Weiss, the lawsuit factory that took corporations for $45 billion, is in the feds' cross hairs. Fortune's Peter Elkind reports on the saga." In the article James Little allegedly punched his girlfriend in the mouth and had a $1,000 a week crack habit.

"A domestic disturbance: The Cleveland lawyer confesses

When police showed up at 20563 Beachwood Drive in Rocky River, Ohio, an upscale Cleveland suburb, they were probably expecting to find just another domestic dispute. It was about 4 p.m. on Aug. 22,1996, and a 37-year-old woman named Pamela Davis had reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her, bloodying her mouth.

What the officers were not expecting was the dizzying tale that Davis began telling. She identified her attacker as James "J.J." Little, an attorney with Arter & Hadden, the big Cleveland firm. She said she'd met Little five months earlier at a bar and that although she was still married and had a young son, she and Little planned on tying the knot in December. She explained that Little had a $1,000-a-week crack habit, that it wasn't the first time Little had struck her, that one time she'd ended up in the emergency room, that Little was usually "a very gentle man," that she didn't really want to press charges, and that she was three months' pregnant with his child.

By this point it was clear to the officers that this was no ordinary lovers' quarrel. Davis turned out to be a local socialite on felony probation for buying clothes using stolen credit card numbers. In fact, she wasn't pregnant (and today denies ever telling police that she was). For his part, Little - who really did have a drug problem and who'd been calmly leaning against his Jeep in the driveway when the cops arrived, according to police - denied hitting Davis and claimed that he'd been trying to end the relationship.

Sometime during this dog day afternoon, according to the seven-page police report, Davis dropped another tidbit: Little, who had recently moved to Cleveland from California, was in possession of stolen paintings worth "millions of dollars" from Los Angeles. With that off her chest, Davis went back to complaining about her boyfriend's crack habit.

Within a few months the FBI had linked her story to an unsolved art theft back in L. A. Confronted by a pair of agents in February 1997, Little struck an immunity deal, then led the feds to a storage locker outside Cleveland rented by his mother, using the name of the family gardener. Inside were two cardboard boxes. The first contained Pablo Picasso's "Nude Before a Mirror," painted in 1932 and once owned by Henry Ford. The second held "The Customs Officer's Cabin in Pourville," painted by Claude Monet in 1882.

Little explained that he had brought the artwork to Ohio after having been given it to hold for "safekeeping" several years earlier by his former boss in L.A., James Tierney, an entertainment lawyer whose clients had included actor Timothy Hutton and singer Gloria Estefan. Where had Tierney gotten the paintings? He'd taken them, as part of a cunning insurance scam, at the behest of a friend who owned them: a retired eye surgeon named Steven Cooperman, who would become the feds' first big link to the alleged fraud at Milberg Weiss."

1997 The Newark Advocate, Ohio, “Rocky River police charged Little on Thursday with a misdemeanor for allegedly breaking the stove at his former girlfriend’s Rocky River home." Domestic violence was also alleged.

1998 LATimes.com “Meanwhile, Little, 42, has his own problems. He was convicted in 1997 of driving under the influence and, earlier this year, of attempted possession of cocaine. He once appeared in court shaved of all body hair in what the judge said was an attempt to dodge a drug test. (Police typically require a hair sample to test for drugs.) With Little's credibility in doubt..." LA Times “Little has problems of his own,” http://articles.latimes.com/1998/nov/23/news/mn-46936/2

1999 Indicted Case #2:99-cr-00359-GHK-1 “subscribing to a false tax return, Felony." USA v James J Little. $50,000 bail, surrender passport, travel restricted, alcohol/drug testing, residence on a boat, no drug use, boat must remain docked. Bench warrant. Motion for bail denied. Re-release, $75,000 bond, mandatory drug testing, may reside on boat, psychiatric evaluation and counseling, must participate in residential drug/alcohol treatment program, no firearms, must pay for cost of treatment, bench warrant reissued, bench warrant returned executed. This has to do with his 1992 tax returns. Little produces immunity material of Gerald Gold.

Here is the docket for this case so you can see all the charges against James Jeffrey Little. Every time he gets in trouble with the law it looks like he rats out a client, coworker, friend. That's how he was able to get immunity in the art theft case and this false tax return case. Maybe that's why they went after him, i.e. so he would turn on a bigger fish. He is the reason they found the stolen art and charged the original person with insurance fraud.

2009, January 3, suspended from the California Bar Association for lying about criminal history, case # 06-O-11656. "The Application for Admission that Respondent filled out and submitted to the United States District Court, Western District of Oklahoma on August 30, 2005 asked applicants to disclose all legal proceedings in which they had been charged with the commission of any crime. At the time Respondent filled out and submitted his Application, he did not have any of his personal records or other memory aids with him to refresh his recollection, and he could not independently recall the several individual instances, between 1989 and 2003, in which he had been charged with the commission of a crime. Respondent admits and acknowledges that, under the circumstances, he should have stated in his Application that there were several instances, between 1989 and 2003, in which he had been so charged; that he did not have immediate access to any records that would enable him to list specific dates/charges; and that he would supply that information to the District Court as soon as he could obtain or retrieve document necessary for him to be able to fully and accurately disclose that information."

"In 2005, Little represented a defendant in federal court in Oklahoma although he was not a member of that state’s bar. He and his co-counsel incorrectly believed Little could be admitted if the co-counsel sponsored and “waived” him in. When they learned that was not the case, Little filed a formal application for admission to the Oklahoma District Court Bar.

As part of the application, he was required to disclose all legal proceedings in which he had been charged with the commission of a crime. Although Little disclosed he had pleaded no contest to a charge of driving under the influence in 1996, he did not disclose that between 1989 and 2003, other criminal charges, including reckless driving and disturbing the peace, had been filed against him. Some were dismissed and some resulted in conviction.

Little stipulated that by filing an incomplete application, he failed to maintain the respect due to the courts."

“drinking alcohol in public." LITTLE, JAMES 1CA13714 07/27/2011 Central Arraignment Courthouse (LAA) 3 days Los Angeles County Jail, 24 months probation. This James Little has the same birth year as James J Little. I assume it's him. He was convicted.

2017, March, suspended from the California Bar Association for not paying child support.

2017, May, Little was sued for sexual harassment and over time, Noemi Bernal v. Little PC et al, case number BC571188 and lost recently, “Little’s conduct “was malicious and was intended to oppress, humiliate and denigrate plaintiff and was totally without justification,” Bernal said. During that case it was shown that Little's mother set up his corporation because he wasn't trusted with money. There were dual organizations in order to shield Little from having to pay child support and to hide assets per Plaintiff. "In her suit, Bernal originally claimed Little would touch her leg and backside in public and frequently expressed an interest in a romantic relationship."

"During opening statements on April 25, one of Bernal’s attorneys, Makoa Kawabata of Kermani LLP, told jurors that Little established J.J. Little & Associates and Law Offices Administrators “to avoid creditors, taxes and child support.”" JJ's mother JoAnn Remington in Naples, Florida set this up for her son. She aids and abets his horrible behavior towards others. Thankfully her husband Charles Bradford Remington is wealthy.

January 3, 2009
JAMES J. LITTLE [#123373], 52, of Los Angeles was suspended for one year, stayed, placed on two years of probation and was ordered to take the MPRE within one year. The order took effect Jan. 3, 2009.
In 2005, Little represented a defendant in federal court in Oklahoma although he was not a member of that state’s bar.
Little stipulated that by filing an incomplete application, he failed to maintain the respect due to the courts.
He also was privately reproved in 2001.

James Little's mother is JoAnn Remington in Naples, Florida. His father who is very similar to James in terms of his psyche, alcohol and drugs died at age 42 in an accident.

Below is a list of a few claims against the estate of James Little in his probate case 18STPB01508. His estate has $645.50 when he died. Then how was he paying for air fare, hotel rooms, videographer, court reporter, court fees...for my case? He died January 13, 2018. His mother JoAnn L. Remington is the executor. He owned no property at time of death in California. This is crazy. He died intestate. A lawyer in hospice would die without a will? His mom put it in probate to clear the creditors. She also thought he may have some contingency fees due.

State Franchise Tax Board $273,330.
Fire Deprt $150.
Vapor LLP $452,813.
Mayman and Mayan $1,325.

This doesn't include the judgment against him from his ex legal aide. I think it was about $700K with $100K in legal fees.
