Who is Luigi Mangione Person of Interest in the Murder of Brian Thompson CEO of UnitedHealthcare

Page will keep refreshing. Check back. Pages, websites, directory listings are disappearing. FBI generally deletes them when they have the person they were looking for. All pages have been saved.

UPDATE 12/10/2024 I did a quick family tree. Ancestors are all from Italy.

Luigi Nicholas Mangione family tree, mother, father, sisters, grandparents, parents, siblings, ancestry, dna, heritage, ethnicity, italy, italian, mary cummins, genealogist, unitedhealthcare, maryland, nicholas mangione, kathy zaninno, dna

He finally shows up in the system

A journalist now says he has the "real" manifesto. TMZ confirms some of statements allegedly with law enforcement and other major media. It was a handwritten note found on his person. Who knows.

“To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”

UPDATE: This is supposedly not real. ORIGINAL: The alleged manifesto was allegedly posted on Substack. It may not be real. Per the manfiesto the murder was intentional. He expected to be caught. He was mad at UnitedHealthcare because of how they treated his mother and himself. His mouther had neuropathy and he had a back injury. I totally understand where he is coming from. I have my doubts about this because photos of his mother show her moving around, traveling and she is not heavy.

"The Allopathic Complex and Its Consequences

The second amendment means I am my own chief executive and commander in chief of my own military. I authorize my own act of self-defense in response to a hostile entity making war on me and my family.

Nelson Mandela says no form of viooence can be excused. Camus says it’s all the same, whether you live or die or have a cup of coffee. MLK says violence never brings permanent peace. Gandhi says that non-violence is the mightiest power available to mankind.

That’s who they tell you are heroes. That’s who our revolutionaries are.

Yet is that not capitalistic? Non-violence keeps the system working at full speed ahead.

What did it get us. Look in the mirror.

They want us to be non-violent, so that they can grow fat off the blood they take from us.

The only way out is through. Not all of us will make it. Each of us is our own chief executive. You have to decide what you will tolerate.

In Gladiator 1 Maximus cuts into the military tattoo that identifies him as part of the roman legion. His friend asks “Is that the sign of your god?” As Maximus carves deeper into his own flesh, as his own blood drips down his skin, Maximus smiles and nods yes. The tattoo represents the emperor, who is god. The god emperor has made himself part of Maximus’s own flesh. The only way to destroy the emperor is to destroy himself. Maximus smiles through the pain because he knows it is worth it.

These might be my last words. I don’t know when they will come for me. I will resist them at any cost. That’s why I smile through the pain.

They diagnosed my mother with severe neuropathy when she was forty-one years old. She said it started ten years before that with burning sensations in her feet and occasional sharp stabbing pains. At first the pain would last a few moments, then fade to tingling, then numbness, then fade to nothing a few days later.

The first time the pain came she ignored it. Then it came a couple times a year and she ignored it. Then every couple months. Then a couple times a month. Then a couple times a week. At that point by the time the tingling faded to numbness, the pain would start, and the discomfort was constant. At that point even going from the couch to the kitchen to make her own lunch became a major endeavor

She started with ibuprofen, until the stomach aches and acid reflux made her switch to acetaminophen. Then the headaches and barely sleeping made her switch back to ibuprofen.

The first doctor said it was psychosomatic. Nothing was wrong. She needed to relax, destress, sleep more.

The second doctor said it was a compressed nerve in her spine. She needed back surgery. It would cost $180,000. Recovery would be six months minimum before walking again. Twelve months for full potential recovery, and she would never lift more than ten pounds of weight again.

The third doctor performed a Nerve Conduction Study, Electromyography, MRI, and blood tests. Each test cost $800 to $1200. She hit the $6000 deductible of her UnitedHealthcare plan in October. Then the doctor went on vacation, and my mother wasn’t able to resume tests until January when her deductible reset.

The tests showed severe neuropathy. The $180,000 surgery would have had no effect.

They prescribed opioids for the pain. At first the pain relief was worth the price of constant mental fog and constipation. She didn’t tell me about that until later. All I remember is we took a trip for the first time in years, when she drove me to Monterey to go to the aquarium. I saw an otter in real life, swimming on its back. We left at 7am and listened to Green Day on the four-hour car ride. Over time, the opioids stopped working. They made her MORE sensitive to pain, and she felt withdrawal symptoms after just two or three hours.

Then gabapentin. By now the pain was so bad she couldn’t exercise, which compounded the weight gain from the slowed metabolic rate and hormonal shifts. And it barely helped the pain, and made her so fatigued she would go an entire day without getting out of bed.

Then Corticosteroids. Which didn’t even work.

The pain was so bad I would hear my mother wake up in the night screaming in pain. I would run into her room, asking if she’s OK. Eventually I stopped getting up. She’d yell out anguished shrieks of wordless pain or the word “fuck” stretched and distended to its limits. I’d turn over and go back to sleep.

All of this while they bled us dry with follow-up appointment after follow-up appointment, specialist consultations, and more imagine scans. Each appointment was promised to be fully covered, until the insurance claims were delayed and denied. Allopathic medicine did nothing to help my mother’s suffering. Yet it is the foundation of our entire society.

My mother told me that on a good day the nerve pain was like her legs were immersed in ice water. On a bad day it felt like her legs were clamped in a machine shop vice, screwed down to where the cranks stopped turning, then crushed further until her ankle bones sprintered and cracked to accommodate the tightening clamp. She had more bad days than good.

My mother crawled to the bathroom on her hands and knees. I slept in the living room to create more distance from her cries in the night. I still woke up, and still went back to sleep.

Back then I thought there was nothing I could do.

The high copays made consistent treatment impossible. New treatments were denied as “not medically necessary.” Old treatments didn’t work, and still put us out for thousands of dollars.

UnitedHealthcare limited specialist consultations to twice a year.

Then they refused to cover advanced imaging, which the specialists required for an appointment.

Prior authorizations took weeks, then months.

UnitedHealthcare constantly changed their claim filing procedure. They said my mother’s doctor needed to fax his notes. Then UnitedHealthcare said they did not save faxed patient correspondence, and required a hardcopy of the doctor’s typed notes to be mailed. Then they said they never received the notes. They were unable to approve the claim until they had received and filed the notes.

They promised coverage, and broke their word to my mother.

With every delay, my anger surged. With every denial, I wanted to throw the doctor through the glass wall of their hospital waiting room.

But it wasn’t them. It wasn’t the doctors, the receptionists, administrators, pharmacists, imaging technicians, or anyone we ever met. It was UnitedHealthcare.

People are dying. Evil has become institutionalized. Corporations make billions of dollars off the pain, suffering, death, and anguished cries in the night of millions of Americans.

We entered into an agreement for healthcare with a legally binding contract that promised care commensurate with our insurance payments and medical needs. Then UnitedHealthcare changes the rules to suit their own profits. They think they make the rules, and think that because it’s legal that no one can punish them.

They think there’s no one out there who will stop them.

Now my own chronic back pain wakes me in the night, screaming in pain. I sought out another type of healing that showed me the real antidote to what ails us.

I bide my time, saving the last of my strength to strike my final blows. All extractors must be forced to swallow the bitter pain they deal out to millions.

As our own chief executives, it’s our obligation to make our own lives better. First and foremost, we must seek to improve our own circumstances and defend ourselves. As we do so, our actions have ripple effects that can improve the lives of others.

Rules exist between two individuals, in a network that covers the entire earth. Some of these rules are written down. Some of these rules emerge from natural respect between two individuals. Some of these rules are defined in physical laws, like the properties of gravity, magnetism or the potential energy stored in the chemical bonds of potassium nitrate.

No single document better encapsulates the belief that all people are equal in fundamental worth and moral status and the frameworks for fostering collective well-being than the US constitution.

Writing a rule down makes it into a law. I don’t give a fuck about the law. Law means nothing. What does matter is following the guidance of our own logic and what we learn from those before us to maximize our own well-being, which will then maximize the well-being of our loved ones and community.

That’s where UnitedHealthcare went wrong. They violated their contract with my mother, with me, and tens of millions of other Americans. This threat to my own health, my family’s health, and the health of our country’s people requires me to respond with an act of war.

END"

He did suffer a back injury and need surgery. He suffered the injury in Hawaii. Maybe his insurance didn't cover him because he was out of the state of residence on his insurance. That is his xray posted below after back surgery. I have an injury at same level. It is debilitating. He doesn't look as muscular as he used to look. He probably can't be as active as he was previously. An injury at that site makes it so you can't stand, walk, sit without pain. You could have sciatica besides pain and limited movement. For a young guy that's a big thing. He hadn't been in contact with friends and family for some months.

The criminal complaint confirms the full name, birth date, address...I posted yesterday morning.

New mugshot 12/10/2024

UPDATE 12/09/2024 EVENING:  Here is the criminal complaint.

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/25450500-luigi-mangione-criminal-complaint/

ORIGINAL: A person of interest has been detained. His name is Luigi Mangione, Luigi Nicholas Mangione. He is allegedly from Towson, Maryland and lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He's 26 years old birth maybe May 6, 1998. He attended the University of Pennsylvania starting in 2016 and has degrees MSE, BSE in computer science. He went to a prestigious prep school Catholic school Gilman. I also see him wearing a tshirt which says "Stanford Pre College Studies." He graduated from high school in 2015 and gave his senior speech. He has a blog which is private anotherdayanotherplay.wordpress.com His jobs are listed as Co-founder at AppRoar Studios, https://approarr.com/ Past: Firaxis Games. https://firaxis.com/ He's also listed as a Data Engineer III at Truecar.

His Goodreads account https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/55354261-luigi-mangione has some clues. He reviewed the Unabomber book. He rationalizes violence for a cause. He wrote as follows,

"Clearly written by a mathematics prodigy. Reads like a series of lemmas on the question of 21st century quality of life.

It's easy to quickly and thoughtless write this off as the manifesto of a lunatic, in order to avoid facing some of the uncomfortable problems it identifies. But it's simply impossible to ignore how prescient many of his predictions about modern society turned out.

He was a violent individual - rightfully imprisoned - who maimed innocent people. While these actions tend to be characterized as those of a crazy luddite, however, they are more accurately seen as those of an extreme political revolutionary.

A take I found online that I think is interesting:

"Had the balls to recognize that peaceful protest has gotten us absolutely nowhere and at the end of the day, he's probably right. Oil barons haven't listened to any environmentalists, but they feared him.

When all other forms of communication fail, violence is necessary to survive. You may not like his methods, but to see things from his perspective, it's not terrorism, it's war and revolution. Fossil fuel companies actively suppress anything that stands in their way and within a generation or two, it will begin costing human lives by greater and greater magnitudes until the earth is just a flaming ball orbiting third from the sun. Peaceful protest is outright ignored, economic protest isn't possible in the current system, so how long until we recognize that violence against those who lead us to such destruction is justified as self-defense.

These companies don't care about you, or your kids, or your grandkids. They have zero qualms about burning down the planet for a buck, so why should we have any qualms about burning them down to survive?

We're animals just like everything else on this planet, except we've forgotten the law of the jungle and bend over for our overlords when any other animal would recognize the threat and fight to the death for their survival. "Violence never solved anything" is a statement uttered by cowards and predators." "

His Goodreads reviews. Looks like he thinks he's an extreme political revolutionary.

His Facebook is still live but they will probably shut it down soon. I saved it. It's gone now. I may post the printout of his page.

Twitter will probably go down soon. Saved it.

His senior high school speech was per his Twitter, Luigi Mangione @PepMangione Dec 8, 2022

"7 years ago, I gave my hs senior speech on this topic: “Today, I will be talking to you about the future, about topics ranging from conscious artificial intelligence to human immortality. Likely, you’ll dismiss all this pretty quickly as interesting, but just science fiction…”

Based on his Twitter he is socially conscious of important issues facing the world today from mental health to agriculture and more.

Parents Kathleen Zannino and Louis Mangione. His father may have been a partner in one of Luigi's businesses App Roar.

Paternal grandfather may be Nicholas Mangione who died in 2008. Names, places match. He was in military USS Caperton. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/baltimoresun/name/nicholas-mangione-obituary?id=7008342

"ANGIONE, SR. , Nicholas B. On November 2, 2008 NICHOLAS B. MANGIONE, SR. Beloved husband of Mary C. Mangione (nee Cuba). Devoted father of Rosemary Juras (Joseph), Louis Mangione (Kathy), John Dino Mangione (Debbie), Linda Licata (Robert), Nicholas Mangione, Jr. (Danielle), Joanne Hock (John), Peter Mangione (Tracy), Frances O'Keefe (Jerry), Samuel Mangione (Katie) and Michele Collison (Keith). Brother of Frances Marchese (Paul). Also survived by 37 grandchildren."

This could be paternal grandmother Mary Cuba.
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/254671705/mary-c.-mangione More about grandparents. Family is originally from Sicily. https://www.gbmc.org/greater-living/the-countdown-begins

Mother may be a travel expert. https://kzmneterprises.com/about-your-fabulous-tour-concierge/ Blog is now private. She traveled to Italy professionally with other women. I have a copy of the blog. Below is from the about page. She has tours planned for 2024 so she must be mobile.

"I am Kathy Zannino Mangione, your Tour Concierge.  I’ve been traveling to Italy for over 30 years and helping friends and family enhance their Italian travel experience.  Though my background is in computer education and business management,  I’ve chosen to now pursue a Boutique Travel company so that I can share my passion for Italian travel with those who would like to get a taste of  “La Dolce Vita”…“The Sweet Life” in Bella Italia.

Growing up in an Italian-American neighborhood, I’m fortunate to have been immersed in the Italian culture my entire life.  I am a fiercely proud Italian-American with dual citizenship and devoted to promoting Italian cultural awareness. I serve as a board member for the Nuovo Cinema Italiano Film Festival in Charleston, SC. I am also a member of the American Council on Italian Matters and the Order Sons of Italy in Baltimore, Maryland.  These organizations provide scholarships for Italian-Americans among other philanthropic initiatives."

Her name matches. This may be her mother, Luigi's maternal grandmother https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/116166003/maria-santa-zannino

They used their home address as the address for the business. I will post it only because it appears they may have just sold it June 2024 and it's vacant. They don't appear to currently live there but lived there starting at least 2015 to May 2024.

1 Buckley St, Towson, MD. https://www.redfin.com/MD/Towson/1-Buckley-Ct-21286/home/9657729 "Welcome to the "Hunt Club Farms" neighborhood. .. This multi-level split has 4 bedrooms, 4/1 baths - Open floor plan - Spacious dining room - Remodeled kitchen with SS appliances, granite counters, center island & breakfast bar - Family room with access to the deck and screen porch - Living room or den with walls of built-ins and french doors - Powder room, pantry & mudroom - Upper level has the primary suite & 3 additional bedrooms and 2 baths plus laundry - lower level offers another family room, exercise area, extra laundry , full bath and plenty of storage - Attached 2 car garage with plenty of driveway parking - Corner . 68 lot with fenced back yard - Attached two car garage, plus plenty of driveway parking - Voluntary Chatterleigh Association. "

Maybe one of his parents got sick and insurance wouldn't cover care which caused a negative result which caused them to sell their home which made him hate health insurance companies. His twitter has an xray which shows a lower back with screws. Maybe he is having an issue with his own health and insurance. I have a back injury in same place. Pain, inability to stand, walk can definitely upset one. His tweets make it seem he may have been dealing with mental health issues.  Speculation.

Who is Dealio Lockhart charged with three murders in fiery crash after racing on 5 freeway in Los Angeles, California

Dealio Lockhart, car racing, crash, accident, dead, injured, los angeles, california, whittier, dodge, charger, challenger, mary cummins, prison, jail, convicted, murder,

UPDATE: 11/14/2024 Anthony is still in a coma. Dealio Lockhart is no longer in the CDCR system.

03/26/2022 "In an email distributed Thursday with the subject line “Nonviolent Parole Review Decision,” the California Board of Parole Hearings informed the victims’ families that Lockhart’s parole had been denied.

“The Board of Parole Hearings has conducted its review and has denied the inmate for release,” the letter reads. “The inmate will likely be screened again for possible referral to the board in a year so long as the inmate remains eligible for the Nonviolent Offender Parole Review Process.”

https://signalscv.com/2022/03/parole-denied-for-man-who-killed-2-scv-teens-in-crash

03/25/2022 Dealio Lockhard denied parole. Thanks to everyone who sent in letters to the parole board. The civil cases haven't even gone to trial yet. Dealio Lockhart is clearly a convicted violent criminal.

"March 23, 2022 Nonviolent Offender Parole Review Inmate was denied release"

https://inmatelocator.cdcr.ca.gov/Details.aspx?ID=BJ1472

02/28/2022 "Dealio Lockhart – who was convicted and sentenced to state prison for more than two decades after pleading guilty to the crash that killed two Valencia teenagers in February 2016 – could be released on parole imminently.

His release is the outcome of recent changes in the law, through Proposition 57 (The Public Safety and Rehabilitation Act of 2016). "

https://signalscv.com/2022/02/changes-in-law-may-let-prisoner-out-on-parole

Let's not forget about the other people injured in the accident. "Thomas Kwon, burned badly, Javier C. Gonzalez injured and pinned in his vehicle trying to free himself from a certain death, Nicole L. Ruiz, five others were hurt, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department."

Let's also not forget Dealio's own words.

“HOW MUCH PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT I'VE CAUSED FOR THE FAMILIES, EVERYONE'S FAMILY. THE ONLY REASON THAT I CAN GIVE FOR MY ACTIONS THAT NIGHT IS A PURELY SELFISH ONE AND THAT'S BECAUSE I WANTED TO WIN, AND WITH THAT SELFISH MINDSET I HAVE CREATED A TRAGEDY THAT'S GOING TO FOREVER BE ON THE FOREFRONT OF MY MIND EVERY SINGLE NIGHT UNTIL THE DAY THAT I DIE.” - Dealio Lockhart

“Adding insult to real-life injury and death, detectives say Lockhart displayed no concern for what happened, not even offering to assist the injured." "We have witnesses say he was in his car looking for his phone," said Boskovich. "That speaks volumes to me at what type of person this was."

Dealio Lockhart was scrubbing his social media and internet tracks which showed his extensive car racing history at the crime scene instead of helping victims of the crash he caused.

02/20/2022 I sent in an email to the Parole Board about my concerns. Dealio Lockhart is not a nonviolent prisoner based on his original charges and actions. He is a danger to society because he could easily re-offend as there are no restrictions on his driver's license or driving. His driver's license was only suspended for three years for vehicular manslaughter, if it was ever suspended. He may have to apply for a new driver's license.

From a comment:

"There will not be a hearing that anyone can attend, not even a representative from the district attorneys office to argue against release. PLEASE email objections of early release to:

Prop57victim@lacounty.gov

You must include your name, telephone number, address, the case number (BA444552) in the email you send. OR

Proposition 57 Paralegal

Los Angeles District Attorney

Parole Revocation Section
11701 Alameda Ave Room 3285
Lynwood CA 90262

Must be received by Friday Feb 25, 2022

This information can include any concerns about the release of Lockhart, may include safety of the general public.

Please remember Lockhart intentionally bought a car to race, recklessly raced with no regard for others, had a history of at least one other crash a couple other speeding tickets, even in other states. Three people died, one is still in a coma, several others sustained life-altering injuries and disfigurement.

Further questions for DA’s office: (323) 357-5340"

02/19/2022 Dealio Lockhart wants to get out on parole. He was referred for parole because he was classified as a "nonviolent offender." I beg to differ. He killed three people and almost killed two more by racing at high speed on the freeway. I believe one is still in a coma and could still die from the accident. People will be speaking out against his release. I'll post the contact here for the parole board so everyone can write letters opposing his release.

04/2019 He was sentenced to 22 years in prison. It's only been three years since he was sentenced and six years since he's been in jail. He "pleaded guilty March 8 to three counts of vehicular manslaughter, four counts of engaging in a speed vehicle contest and 11 counts of assault likely to cause great bodily injury."

I can't find the exact sentence at the moment because lacourt.org is down. It's up now. Sentencing as follows: He actually got a six year sentence and not 22 years. He was only sentenced for one murder and not three. The other sentences don't matter when it comes to parole. They all run concurrently anyway. Everyone was saying that 22 years is a long sentence. Not when you consider parole. He clearly got off light as Prop 57 passed before he was sentenced. Let's see if he gets out on parole or not. Some say vehicular manslaughter is a violent crime but legally it's not unless he intentionally set out to murder the specific people that he killed. Definition of violent crimes per California penal code 667.5 (c). He knew there was a good chance that someone would die from reckless high speed racing. He was originally charged with three counts of second degree murder which is a violent crime.

Count 1 192 (C)(1) Vehicular Manslaughter  6 YEAR(S) IN ANY STATE PRISON. "192.  Manslaughter is the unlawful killing of a human being without malice. "Is Vehicular Manslaughter a Violent Crime?

While it may be a serious charge, vehicular manslaughter is generally not considered to be a violent crime from a legal standpoint. However, laws can change and vary from state to state. For something to be considered a violent crime, the victim has to have been threatened with or harmed by violence. Even if you are responsible for a fatal accident, this is not considered to be violent if you did not intend to harm the other person."

You can go here https://www.lacourt.org/criminalcasesummary/ui/ They type in case # BA444552

Remember, Dealio was deleting his car racing photos, videos, history while he was at the crime scene. That's how I got involved. I heard about the crash that night then searched him asap. I saw the photos, videos and profiles disappearing so I saved them from cache and his friend's profiles. By the morning they were gone and his friends made their profiles or that content private. He knew he committed a crime and was trying to hide evidence that he was a known reckless car racer. People saw him on his phone at the crime scene.

Some of the civil lawsuits in the case are still ongoing. The lead case # is BC661807. You can search it here http://www.lacourt.org to see the status, civil. It appears they are preparing for trial. The Farmers Insurance case against Delio has settled but the rest are consolidated and continue.

"The maximum misdemeanor sentence for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence is one (1) year in county jail—and the maximum felony sentence is six (6) years in state prison. But if you acted with only ordinary negligence, then Penal Code 192(c) is a misdemeanor."

This would cause one to be deemed unsuitable for parole i.e. "demonstrating an exceptionally callous disregard for human suffering." This is per the California Prison and Parole Handbook 2019.

Here is video of Dealio Lockhart in the same car probably on the same freeway showing what a bad ass driver he is. I looked at the video frame by frame. It starts out near the ocean maybe San Pedro. There are crumbling palisades to the left. He turns out of a parking lot then eventually on to a freeway. Next there is a sign for the Long Beach 710 freeway. He appears to be going north west. He drives into the sun setting and exposure changes. Then it's night time. In one frame he edited out the bottom left corner. I think it was a license plate of another car.

10/1/2020 FIRST REAL PHOTO OF DEONTE LEE MURRAY! I searched old news of the carjacking arrest and found video of Deonte Lee Murray being taken in an ambulance to the hospital after he was bitten by a canine after he was chased and apprehended by a K9 unit.

Another motion was filed yesterday and more criminal counts added. They added the carjacking case to the attempted murder of the officers case. These are California penal codes. So far all hearings at the Compton courthouse. They aren't allowing media. Nov 17, 2020 is the preliminary hearing. Based on my experience it will be rescheduled many times. Don't waste your time going to the hearing. Court is closed to public because of Covid anyway.

ORIGINAL: 36 year old Deonte Lee Murray born June 2, 1984 was just charged for the attempted murder of two Los Angeles County Sheriff Officers. He was arrested September 17, 2020, see arrest documents below. His bail is over $1,000,000. Bail is now $6,155,000 see court case information below. Part of his criminal history is below. He has a current address in Los Angeles, California 90059 on Grape and 115th which is an apartment complex in Watts.

LA County Sheriff dept does not release mugshots on their own. We sent in an info act request for the photo but a pic will most likely be posted first by any media who was at the hearing today if they were allowed. UPDATE: They aren't releasing his mugshot. "Murray’s photo is not being released to preserve the integrity of the case."

The victims were identified today as Officers Claudia Apolinar and Emmanuel Perez.

Sheriffs stated today that it took two weeks to verify that the carjacker was the gunman. They received many tips besides surveillance video showing the gunman in the stolen Mercedes Benz driving in the vicinity of the shooting. They also matched the gun Murray threw out the car window to the one used in the shooting Then they matched Murray to the gun.

People are emailing me saying it looks a kid shot the Sheriffs. The photo above is from surveillance video from a fish eye camera. The person and car look squashed. That's a Ford Interceptor utility vehicle, see pic below. They are 69.4 inches tall or 5.75 feet or 5'9" tall. The suspect is 5'7" tall. He appears crouching a tiny bit in the photo and his head is below the top of the car. That appears to be the right height for the suspect who is 36 years old.

Sheriff just posted a better image of the vehicle. It looks like an SUV and not a sedan. The alleged shooter is not 4'7" "pygmy" or a child as many have stated.

Someone else posted that it was a Dodge Charger and not the standard SUV. Someone else made and posted this image below. Again, the video image is squashed. We don't positively know the make and model of the vehicle. Hopefully Sheriff's office will release more information.

Someone also posted the mugshot of a Deonte Murray arrested in Lee County. I don't think that's him. There is no Lee County in California. I see no evidence Deonte committed crimes outside of California. I'm not going to post an image unless I'm positive it's the same person.

*A clarification for people who are not local. Los Angeles City is not Los Angeles County. LA City has the Los Angeles Police Dept i.e. LAPD and LA County has the Sheriff's dept. LA City is an incorporated city and has its own police dept. LA County does the police work for non-incorporated cities in the physical county. LA City is one of many cities located in the physical LA County in California. They're easily confused.

"Sources familiar with the investigation said the motive for what the Sheriff's Department described as an "ambush-style" attack on the deputies in Compton appears to center on a long running conflict between two local street gangs and law enforcement." source

Deonte Lee Murray was born June 2, 1984 in Santa Clara County, California. His mother's maiden name is Magee. He's lived in Compton, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Long Beach all in California. He's 5'7" 190 lbs. He has prior convictions for sales and possession of narcotics, firearm possession by a felon or addict, receiving stolen property, burglary and terrorist threats.

Deonte Lee Murray carjacked a man driving a Mercedes Benz. Murray shot the owner of the car and stole the car. Police tracked down Murray and pursued him in a car chase. Murray tossed a pistol out of the car. The ballistics on that gun matched the one that shot the Sheriff Officers. The description of the Sheriff Officers shooter matched the description of the carjacker.

On September 17, 2020 Deonte Lee Murray was arrested on charges of carjacking. There was a nearly nine hour standoff in Lynwood. He was arrested Tuesday night after he was chased and bitten by a sheriff’s patrol dog during a multi-hour search. Officials said Murray was discovered hiding near a trash can and chicken coop after leading deputies on a short high-speed chase and attempting to flee on foot. At that time Sheriff said the people and cases were unrelated but that was not true. From the LA Times.

"Los Angeles County prosecutors on Thursday (September 17, 2020) filed charges against a carjacking suspect who was arrested after a nearly nine-hour standoff in Lynwood earlier this week.

Deonte Lee Murray, 36, was charged with one felony count each of carjacking, second-degree robbery and assault with a semiautomatic firearm, the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said. The charges include allegations of association with a criminal street gang, discharging a rifle inflicting great bodily injury, and personal use of an AR-15.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges during an appearance in a Compton courtroom, the district attorney’s office said.

The massive police presence in Lynwood on Tuesday triggered speculation that the Sheriff’s Department had cornered the gunman who shot two deputies four days earlier. But sheriff’s officials said at the time that was not the case.

“At this time,” Sgt. Bob Boese said in announcing Murray’s arrest, “there is no information that would lead us to believe that he is involved in the shooting of our deputies.”

The deputies, a 31-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, were sitting in a patrol car outside a Metro station in Compton when a gunman approached and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, striking them in the head, face and arms. They survived and are recovering. One was released from the hospital Wednesday.

Two weeks ago, Boese said, deputies in Compton responded to a carjacking in the 500 block of Essey Avenue and found a 51-year-old victim whose car had been stolen and who had been shot in the leg.

Gang investigators obtained an arrest warrant and began searching for Murray, who was spotted Tuesday near the intersection of Alondra Boulevard and Bradfield Avenue, Boese said. Deputies attempted to stop him in his Toyota Solara, Boese said, but Murray took off, with the deputies in pursuit.

Murray ditched the car in the 3000 block of Carlin Avenue in Lynwood and hid in a home before he was taken into custody, Boese said."

Pic from that arrest.

"The District Attorney's Office charged Deonte Lee Murray with 2 counts of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder of a peace officer ... as well as possession of a firearm by a felon, carjacking, second-degree robbery and assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Most of those charges stem from a separate September 1 incident where Murray allegedly shot a Compton citizen and stole his vehicle.

The 36-year-old suspect was found and arrested on September 15 ... 3 days after he allegedly walked up to Sheriff's deputies while they sat in their car outside the Martin Luther King Jr. Transit Center and fired at them.

Murray's expected to be arraigned Wednesday, and prosecutors are recommending bail be set at $6.15 million. If convicted, he faces a possible maximum life sentence in state prison.

As we reported ... the deputies -- a 31-year-old woman and 24-year-old man -- were in critical condition after they were shot from point-blank range. The female deputy's credited with saving her partner's life by applying a tourniquet to his arm. They've since been discharged from the hospital and both are recovering."

A Compton man was charged today with attempting to murder two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies while they sat in their car outside the Martin Luther King Jr. Transit Center earlier this month, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Case TA152697 was amended today to add two counts each of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder of a peace officer and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Deonte Lee Murray (dob 6/2/84) is expected to be arraigned today in Department D of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Compton Branch.

On September 12, the defendant allegedly walked up to a car occupied by two sheriff’s deputies outside a Metro station and opened fire. He then fled the scene.

Both deputies were seriously injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Prosecutors are recommending bail be set at $6.15 million. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum life sentence in state prison.

Murray was charged on September 17 with one felony count each of carjacking, second-degree robbery and assault with a semiautomatic firearm-personal use of a firearm.

On September 1, the defendant allegedly confronted a man in Compton, shot him in his leg and then stole the victim’s vehicle.

Murray was found and arrested on September 15, three days after he allegedly shot at the deputies.

He faces an additional count each of attempted murder in connection with the carjacking and possession of a firearm by a felon.

He also faces allegations of association with a criminal street gang, discharging a rifle inflicting great bodily injury and personal use of a rifle in the carjacking incident.

Deputy District Attorney Jacques Garden of the Crimes Against Peace Officers Division is prosecuting the case.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department."
