PREVIOUS: No one will be happy with this outcome. He's been ordered to go home and become mentally competent. He can't drink alcohol and must take his psychiatric drugs. I don't see that happening. The Judge wanted to lock him up in state prison hospital but because this case was assault on an animal and not a human it would not be legal. We need to change these laws.

Who is Joseph Anthony Corrao who killed Pinky the flamingo in Busch Gardens, Tampa Florida? Joseph Corrao was born June 15, 1971. He lived in Lake City, Florida. He does not live in Tampa, Florida. He was charged with felony animal cruelty and was just released on $2,000 bond.

"Corrao was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a third-degree felony, according to Hillsborough County court records. He faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 if convicted."

"He has served about three years in prison on convictions that include aggravated assault on a person 65 years or older, felony DUI and fleeing law enforcement, the Tampa Bay Times reports. Corrao was released from prison last year after serving about a year."

Corrao was at the park with his mother and his two sons on vacation. His mother yelled at him to put the flamingo down. He was known to have major problems with alcohol. Then why take him to Busch Gardens where they do beer tasting?

This guy really had a history of violence to animals and people. According to Tampa Bay Tribune.

"Corrao, of Orlando, was arrested on a charge of felony animal cruelty — a year and 15 days after his release from prison on charges that he shot and killed two chained dogs at point-blank range with a shotgun."

"Corrao has a long history of arrests in Florida, records show, starting at the age of 25 with drug charges. He has also faced charges of hit and run, child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a child, driving under the influence, DUI with serious bodily injury and burglary."

A day before the attack he said he was going to get tipsy from alcohol. He also joked "I've never been to jail in Tampa."
