Dylann Storm Roof, Dylann Roof, Bennett Roof, Charleston Church massacre - Mary Cummins, Los Angeles

June 18, 2015 Dylann Roof went into the Charleston Church, sat for 45 minutes of prayer then opened fire on the parishioners killing nine. Everyone's first reaction was extreme sorrow which turned into a compulsion to understand the motive for such a racist and senseless killing spree.

Dylann Storm Roof was born April 3, 1994 in South Carolina to father Franklin Bennett Storm and Amelia "Amy" Cowles. He had behavioral problems in middle school and had to repeat a grade. He dropped out of school after the ninth grade and never returned. Someone who drops out of school at this age obviously has major problems.

Dylann's father Benn Storm is a contractor. Based on divorce documents he was abusive to both of his wives. He was distant to his children. After his second wife left him there was no one to care about Dylann or his sister Amber. Because of Dylann's social and behavioral issues this had more of a profound effect on Dylann. Left alone he appears to have become depressed and angry. He directed his anger toward black people.

Looks like six other people had the same idea. http://web.archive.org/web/20150620135047/http://lastrhodesian.com/data/documents/rtf88.txt says he wasn't raised in a racist environment I find it hard to believe he could have such strong racist hatred by himself. He states that whites are superior to blacks. I believe this most likely came from his father, relatives, friends. This is as stupid as saying a white piece of paper is superior to a black piece of paper.

While his manifesto gives us a tiny window into his thoughts and feelings it's still very hard to understand all his hatred. For him to go to a church and kill people as they prayed is just too difficult to understand or comprehend. While the relatives of the people who were killed forgave Dylann in court I do not feel forgiveness for this person. Something is very wrong for a young man to feel such racist hatred and then take it out on innocent people praying in a church.

He stated his goal was to cause a civil war. I can only hope his evil act instead opens up a deep conversation into how we can end racism in our country. I was fortunate to grow up in Los Angeles in the 1960's in a melting pot of races, cultures and religions. Only a couple of times did I see racism in elementary school. I saw none in high school. I did see quite a bit in college at USC but it went both ways. I hope we can use this tragedy to end racism in our country so more innocent people will not have to die.

I have always been against racism for many reasons. The first is from a very early experience as a young child. My best friend growing up as a little kid was black. I would tell my Nana how great my school friend was. My Nana said I should ask my friend to a sleep over and I did. When she arrived my Nana saw she was black and sent her away. I was so upset crying and did not understand. Another family member said my Nana was racist and racism was wrong. They probably used different words as I was only six. Next day at school I was worried my friend would not want to be my friend any more after my Nana sent her away. She came up to me and said her mom explained it all and we could still be friends. I was relieved. I didn't really understand what racism was until years later. I still don't understand how people can be racist. Try as I might I could never convince my Nana that racism was wrong. She also thought gays were sinners then refused to believe Liberace whom she adored was gay.

The second reason has to do with my Mexican grandmother. My grandmother was born in Mexico in 1899 in the Federal District of Tacubaya. My grandmother raised me here in Los Angeles, California. I thought I was 100% Mexican. I know, blonde hair, white skin, green eyes. I was five and didn't realize that I didn't "look" Mexican even though I was part Mexican. I didn't realize people thought that Mexican means brown skin. When I was about six my Nana told me not to speak Spanish outside of the house. This was my first inkling that Mexicans were not thought to be the best people. To be a Mexican was to be ashamed.

Growing up I heard people say horrible things about Mexicans. They are lazy, alcoholics, criminals, rapists and gang members. None of my relatives were anything like that. I took offense when they said these things to me. Looking white they assumed I must also hate Mexicans and blacks? I heard the most racist things imaginable from college and on from other people about blacks, mexicans, arabs, asians.... I even had one guy from my gym say "we pure whites must stick together. Our race has been muddied by other races." WTH?

Donald Trump announced his run for presidency a few days ago. It his announcement speech he bashed Mexicans! From the mouth of Donald Trump,

"When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending the best. They're not sending you, they're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing those problems. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they're telling us what we're getting." "I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words."

While I most certainly would have never voted for Trump his racist remarks about Mexicans make it so I never want to see him speak again. There is no room for racism in the United States. We are a mix of many different cultures, ethnicities, religions, languages.... We left Europe to start our own country here so we could be equal and free or at least that was the goal. Instead we dominated the natives, dominated other races and cultures that moved to America and we had African slaves. In reality we just didn't want to be dominated by British rule. We wanted to be able to be the dominator of others which we did. Racism is still alive and strong in the US. This is why I'm so against racism.

UPDATE: 06/17/15: Rachel Dolezal is now extremely happy about all the media and other attention she is getting. She featured herself on The Morning Show on her personal profile with her bio son and adopted son/brother.

I read a bit more about her bio brother Joshua. Her brother wrote a book about his life growing up in his strict Pentecostal family http://www.amazon.com/Down-Mountaintop-From-Belief-Belonging/dp/1609382390 The book is "Down from the Mountaintop: From Belief to Belonging." It seems they both grew up Christian home schooled. From a review,

Seems they were both home schooled in a very strict religious manner. Then they went to college. I would think their first experience in a school other than their home had a great effect on both Rachel and Joshua. They made their first independent friends. Someone said earlier there is more to the story and there definitely is. Still, Rachel, no matter her upbringing, showed poor judgment and lack of integrity lying about being black. I'm actually amazed no one called her on this before.

Earlier I was willing to give this woman the benefit of the doubt that she identifies as black in terms of culture, community and just got a little carried away and didn't correct people when they assumed she was biracial. It's hard to discern between racial identity crisis/confusion and racial identity as a fixed thing. I'm more likely to believe some gender identity issues are real and permanent as they are evident as such a young age. Maybe if a white/black child were raised in a black/white family I could see the child believing they are the race of the parents even though they aren't.

As a kid I thought I was 100% Mexican because my Nana raised me and she was Mexican. I realized I was only half around age six or so. When I was seven I realized I had lighter skin and hair than our 100% Mexican relatives. I still felt Mexican based on culture and everything else. Still, I never lied and said I had a Mexican mother and father.

Rachel here goes back and forth about her color. It's like she's playing two race cards depending upon the situation. To fight her ex husband in a custody battle she was white. To work for the NAACP she was part black. To sue her ex-employer for racial discrimination she stated she was white. To apply to be a commissioner she was part black. Just pick a color and stick with it.

When asked about her color she stated "I don't stay out of the sun." In reality she had a membership to a tanning salon. Previously she said she didn't dye her skin. Now she admits she uses a "little bronzer to feel pretty." If she used bronzer, self tan all her life, I could believe that. She was white as a lily when she married a black man. Why did she later take up using fake tan? I agree I feel better with a little color and I'm not as white as Rachel. Still, she's very fair and is now medium tan. I pity her skin.

I have a feeling the Rachel story will get messier before it's over. Rachel loves the media attention and doesn't realize she's putting her foot in her mouth every time she opens it. I doubt she'll ever come clean with the truth even if she gets that DNA test on her parents. I believe she has some major issues to be playing such a strange game about her color. I'd like to be darker but I'm not. I am what I am. Not much I can do about it.

UPDATE: 06/15/15: Things keep getting messier. Rachel's older brother Joshuah was sued for allegedly sexually assaulting Rachel's adopted younger sister Esther Dolezal. Rachel claims her brother also sexually assaulted and harassed her. Rachel also claims her ex-husband hit their child and left bruises.

In more disturbing news Rachel sued her school for racial discrimination in 2002 for not giving her a job because she was white. She lost, appealed and lost again. Perhaps Rachel will say she pretended to be black to overcome the discrimination she felt in a mainly black school. We shall see.

UPDATE: This morning Rachel Dolezal stepped down. I think it was the right decision. Her situation was a distraction to the cause. I also agree with this statement below, She just should have been honest. I could see how she want want to be considered black, be pushed in that direction because she was white and wanted to be in the black community, world. Still, you need to be honest. I don't identify with my bio mom. Still, I admit she is my bio mom. My face looks like her face. My skin and eye color are a little similar to her skin and eye color. I do state that my maternal grandmother is my "real" mom as she raised me. I identify more with my grandmother in regard to culture, ethics and morals.

I heard about the Rachel Anne Dolezal story few days ago. I was in bed because of my back so I couldn't research it easily. I was finally able to take a better look at this case.

I don't have a problem with a white woman being interested in African studies, African art, being heavily involved in the African American community and civil rights. I fully support all of this. I personally feel she just shouldn't have lied about her bio family. We don't pick our parents. We do pick our spouse, friends and the rest of our family. My bio mother was not a good person but I still admit she was my bio mother.

My two best friends growing up were both black. I can understand how you could identify with your friends. I can also understand wanting to be part of that culture. I would try to make my hair like my friend and she'd try to make her hair like mine. That is natural for kids, teens and young adults. Even comedian Cho said she went through a phase where she dressed, acted and spoke like a Puerto Rican. Some kids in my high school would talk black, got 'fros and totally acted as if they were from the projects when they were from Beverly Hills.

As I take a look into Rachel's life she has done a lot of good for the African community and civil rights. I did read where she went to a mainly black college and was resented by other students for being white. People didn't take her seriously in that school. I could see why she might want to prove herself to others as a proponent of African Americans.

Below is Rachel Anne Dolezal's family tree. As far as I can see she was born with German, Czech ancestry. The tree goes back farther but it won't fit here easily. If there is any American Indian, it must be on the mother's side.

That said I can see how a person can identify as "black," "African American" and be caucasian. I have black, gay, disabled friends, friends with different religions and I get upset when I see their rights trampled upon. I am offended when people offend them. I stand up for their rights even though I'm not black, gay...

I hope she releases a statement saying her bio parents are who they are but she identifies as black. I don't have a problem with it. I do see black people who are upset with this. I guess they feel she hasn't truly felt what it is like to be a black person so how can she identify as black. Living in the black community with black friends, husband, son, relatives can easily make one feel part of that community. She's probably standing right by her black friends when they are attacked with racist comments. I've seen white people racially attacked just for being friends with black people. White people are more likely to attack white people who marry or have children with black people. That type of racism, discrimination, hate is real.

Hopefully we can all learn from this situation. You don't have to be black, white, Asian, gay, disabled... to identify, sympathize, empathize with people and help who are different than you. Dawud Abdulwali was moved to Glendale for a court appearance. This may be about the squatter case or other cases. This alert came from VINE. He was sentenced to 60 days in that case. While he's in custody I'm sure other jurisdictions will have him appear.

Dawud rented an illegal room behind a house for $450/month. He owned a 2005 Crown Victoria taxi which he sold in February for apx $1,500. It may have been the taxi he drove to the arson. City does not show him having a taxi license. Maybe he just owned the car and leased it to someone with a license? He had many vehicle infractions so maybe he did drive the taxi. Some infractions were for not having a license. Maybe it was a taxi license and not a regular driver's license.

UPDATE: Still no mug shot or case number. He pled not guilty at his arraignment yesterday. Glad they kept the bail high. Abdulwali's attorney tried to argue he wouldn't be a flight risk without his passport. Obviously it's his job to argue for the benefit of his client. I'm sure it's a public defender as this guy appears to be broke. Below is first drawing from court appearance yesterday.

UPDATE: DA stated in court today Dawud served two stints in prison. He was also on probation stemming from his 2013 assault case. He's being held on $1,000,000 bail. He was living in a back room at 200 block of East 73rd Street which is 110 fwy near Florence Blvd which is a shitty part of town. His landlord is Poleth Chavez so address is most likely 246 E 73rd, 90003. Below are pics. It's off an alley. I'd bet it's that illegal room they made between garage and house. That could be his car.

UPDATE: Arsonist caught. 56 year old Dawud Abdulwali birth name Timothy Joseph Roston. Born April 23, 1959. 6'5" 215 lbs black male. He has a criminal history here in LA from 1990 to the present, see below. Based on what I see he is a confused, misdirected, drifter with no real job who identifies as an animal, environment, poor people activist who converted to Islam or at least changed his name to an Islamic sounding name. He desires money,women, nice cars and sometimes seems to force sex based on his rap sheet. He was married to Japanese woman who divorced after what appears to be a kidnapping, forced oral copulation charge which was dropped, see below. Here is LA Times article.

His birth name most likely Timothy Joseph Roston. He has criminal rap sheet in both names from 1990 to today. Below are two links to two profiles which might be but I have no idea if they are him. Age, height, name, location....seem to match. He is an animal, environment, poverty activist. He grew up in Inglewood. He worked with Japanese artists here in LA, married a japanese person then got divorced. He worked with a DJ friend of his here in LA who then went to Japan. They seem to hang out in Japan together. The other guy had an American name then changed it to something similar to Dawud's name. I think "Abdul" is generic. I think they are Americans who got involved in religion based on their facebook pages. One friend whom Dawud seems to copy and idolize is Muhammad Abdul Salaam real name Curtis Harmon. "May 20, 2014 Curtis Harmon —> Muhammad Abdul Salaam May 20, 2015. One year ago today I entered Islam. Allaahu Akbar!!!" They are both into skid row rights, black rights, music, dj, travel, Japan. I think Dawud's thinking may have gotten a little radical. ~~I bet he had an American name. Can't find the name change yet.~~ He supposedly worked for DTOURZ which is tourism. Some civil cases I found. He won a small claims for about $3,500 against a rent a car, was divorced from Japanese person, was evicted. All other media reporting this is the guy. I see him in Japan, Australia. He's supposedly in entertainment.

He was charged with driving without a driver's license but it was dismissed.

2012 he was charged with oral copulation against someone's will multiple counts but they were dismissed. 288ac2a.

UPDATE: After I posted this page Robert Henry Young pretended to start a new business. He got a new private investigator license because his old one had my complaint on it. It also had his name on it. He doesn't want people to know who he really is. He is from Greenville, Illinois and graduated from high school there in 1983. Everyone else was in a club, sport, team, was involved in some high school event. Robert Henry Young of R.H. Young Inc was not involved in one club, sport or team. Here are his pics. He eventually came to California as a security guard. In his website he claims to have worked for another PI company as a PI then started his own in 1999. He went bankrupt in 1999 chapter 7 claiming no assets when he actually owned a house.

February 24, 2013: Today at 7:00 a.m. CA time it looks like *** posted a still from the video of me being assaulted last Sunday. There is a time/date stamp on the still. 02-17 09:26:38. That is when he was there. In the still I'm looking at the guy while his video guy videos. I can tell from where she took the still it's the same process serve. This proves she ordered the guy to pretend to serve me so he could assault me. I believe *** is seriously mentally ill. She ordered the hit from Texas. She paid this man $750 to do this to me. I have a copy of her receipt. Regular personal service is $65. The other apx $700 was to trespass, assault me and to videotape it with two cameras. I have never served anyone in that manner in my life. I always tell them to be very legal, kind and polite.

February 20, 2013: The police asked if I had a description of the guy who threw the documents at me. I even have a photo. I'm 5'8" so he's 5" taller than me and is 6'2", heavy set, white guy with lighter colored hair born March 10, 1965, 50 years old. Why a guy bigger than me would hit me with documents is really beyond me. I'm sure *** had to pay extra for that. Amazing she's wasting *** funds on hiring a guy to assault me half way across the country. A sick individual. Never would I have ever thought of doing something like this to her.

February 19, 2013: The thug*** hired is named Robert Henry Young, a licensed private investigator (License 23001) and process server (Process Server License 1911) born March 10, 1965. I had to gather this information for the police report. You would think he would know the law. He lives in Anaheim at 4107 E Alderdale Ave, Anaheim, CA 92807. He was able to retain this house even after he and his wife went bankrupt in 2000 stating they had no assets. Looks like they lied if they didn't report this home they've owned since 1994. Adult daughter is Ashley 24. Their social security numbers are listed on their bankruptcy docs. Seems he was sued for violating someone's civil rights, also had a little run in with the law. *** seems to find some real low lifes, first Randy Turner then Eric Shupps and now Robert Young. I wonder how much of ***money did *** pay to the guy to harass and assault me? Her board of directors is liable for her behavior as they voted her president. They have the power to vote her out completely if they like. That is what California Wildlife Center did to Amanda's friend Rebecca Dmytryk when she was destroying the group and causing volunteers to leave.

February 18, 2013: Yesterday I believe ***hired some thug to pretend to serve me a legal document at the Mayoral convention. Instead of handing me the documents or dropping it on the ground which would be legal service, he threw the folded document at me with force hitting me with it. I just looked more closely at the document. It's the sister state filing from 11/09/12. They did not serve it within 60 days. That means they have to refile and reserve me. This is not legal service as this document is void. I bet *** did this just to harass me. I just asked Hotel security to save their security video for the police. This shows you how low petty, juvenile, nasty *** will go just to be mean.

He is now calling himself R.H.Young Inc. He also changed his PI license. Perhaps he lost his last one. His new license is 28532. I just looked this up. It's new in 2013. He got it right after I reported him and made this page.

It appears he wanted to get his name off of his license number probably so people wouldn't see his bankruptcy documents. Just found out why he changed his business name. He has a lot of very bad reviews. He charges people a lot of money then rips them off.
