The Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is located at 15101 Lancaster Road, Lancaster, California GPS Latitude/Longitude: 34.72556546104782, -118.39665971500784 . This link takes you to the map . They have a poppy cam so you can see current conditions. Poppies generally bloom mid-February through May but it depends on rain, sun, wind and temperature. When it's cold, windy, raining the poppies close up. If it's very cold, they die. If it's very windy, raining, the petals fall off then you have to wait for new ones to appear which is pretty quickly. If clouds come in, temps will drop, wind will pick up. Try to get there when there are no clouds before 3:00 pm. If they last to May when it's warmer, you can get there later if there are no clouds. Here is the trail map

I took the photos below mainly outside of the reserve down the street in a field right off the road GPS 34.716140207421, -118.35129831176793 . I did not step on any flowers. There are little path ways. It's at a small intersection. They sell lemonade, honey, tshirt on the street there. Photos of satellite image of the site are down below. It's free to park on the side of the road here. You can see the poppy fields on the satellite images which I posted below.
