Per the Times "the son of a former California state Assembly speaker Nunez has been freed from prison after his manslaughter sentence was dramatically reduced in 2011 by then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, prison officials said Sunday. The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Esteban Nuñez (real name Estevan Armondo Nunez), now 27 (date of birth January 21, 1989), will live in Sacramento County on parole supervision for three years."

I wrote an article years ago when Esteban Nunez was first charged with the crimes which somehow vanished. I just found the photos from the article. They are from Esteban Nunez's MySpace page in their original format with original date. They have not been altered in any way.

"Nuñez entered prison in June 2010 to serve a 16-year sentence in the stabbing death of college student Luis Santos in San Diego.

On his last day in office in 2011, Schwarzenegger commuted the sentence to seven years. Nuñez is the son of Fabian Nuñez, who was speaker of the state Assembly and a political ally while Schwarzenegger was governor.

Esteban Nuñez received credit for good behavior and was released after serving less than six years.

“Our son has paid his debt to society. He is committed to continuing the work of healing, self-reflection and spiritual growth,” the Nuñez family said in a statement released Friday."

I quoted that so no one will think I was not fair. That said Esteban Nunez did not pay his debt to society. He intentionally killed someone with his buds. He was just using a knife while underage drinking alcohol like he did so many times before and bragging about it online.

Below is Esteban Nunez's "Write a Prisoner" profile. This was his profile as of February 16, 2016 a month before he was released. I don't see any "spiritual growth" here. This boy needs to go back to prison. Here is Esteban whining about prison,

He's looking for a young woman to "help me pass the remainder of my time in this dreadful and tedious place. I am interested in writing someone who shares similar interests as myself, someone who will listen to me and accompany me in this lonesome place."

The victim wishes he could be so lonesome. The mother wishes her dead child could be so lonesome in prison instead of dead and gone. Esteban Nunez has not changed and never will. He's a spoiled brat.

Esteban writes,

"My name is Esteban. I am a 25yearold
man who’s decided to give this whole internet introduction thing a chance at meeting new interesting young women. I am not looking for any serious type of relationship nor am I looking for any type of financial support. I am looking for a simple friendship, someone to correspond with, get to know, and someone to help me pass the remainder of my time in this dreadful and tedious place. I am interested
in writing someone who shares similar interests as myself, someone who will listen to me
and accompany me in this lonesome place.

While incarcerated I’ve learned a lot about myself and have found much comfort in who I
am as an individual, in doing so it has helped me learn what I aspire to become and what I
wish to accomplish in my life. But I’m not going to continue on and on about myself, I’m not
on here to tell the world about myself, in fact I’m more of a to myself type of person which is
why I’ve been hesitant to this whole internet thing. I’m on here to get to know some
interesting and easygoing people. I am a whole hearted, grounded, optimistic, and smart
young man. I am also very family oriented although I have no kids. I am very close to my
immediate family. So if you are interested in telling me about yourself and want to know
more about me, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Yet either way, stay safe and be
sure to love yourself for the unique individual that you are.
Sincerely,
Esteban"

  1. Only six years for murder...that doesn't usually happen unless the victim is a female.

I'm sick to death of violent wastes-of-space roaming our streets while the prisons are filled with petty thieves and pot smokers.

As far as I'm concerned, violent criminals should be put down, or kept in prison for the rest of their lives. Any sort of battery...put that sucker out of our misery.

And for crissakes, let's stop calling sexual battery against children, "molestation" or "child molesting."
