Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary convent, sale Katy Perry, Dana Hollister, Archbishop Jose Gomez, 3441 Waverly, Los Feliz 90027 |
Dana Hollister is legally in a purchase agreement with the nuns who own the property. The Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary broke off from the Catholic church in the 1960's. I know because they were the nuns at my catholic school. The Catholic church has always treated the nuns as second class religious citizens below the male Priests. Nuns are the teachers and nurses in the church. The church treats them like maids.
This group of nuns split from the church because they didn't like being treated like lower class and didn't want to take instruction from the church. When they broke off they bought their own property. There are quite a few convents which they own. The archbishop of LA Jose Gomez is trying to say the church owned the convent. They kicked the nuts out in 2011. I don't know how they managed that. I do know that the church has kicked a lot of the elderly nuns out. Nuns work for the church their entire lives in exchange for having a place to stay when they are old.
I hope Dana Hollister's lawyers make sure the deal goes through for the nuns. The church has kicked nuns out of other convents including Good Shepherd Catholic Church. They turned the convent into a visitor's center yet left the priests and monsignor's house intact. Go, Nuns!
Here is the basic title, deed, plat map of the place.

I don't think he's a hypocrite the fact that pretty much all manufacturing of this type is done in China and Mexico because nobody would buy goods made in America you'd pay what you pay for Gucci products if our taxes were lower we could afford higher wages and companies would set up in America. He's a business man of coarse he's going to get the best bang for his buck. The problem is the tax laws and anti business tax code. That's not being a hypocrite that's being smart. If we change or trade rules you'll see manufacturing come back to the US and they'll be place to go to have clothing and jewelry made here in mass quantities.
