UPDATE: 01/26/2021 Robert Unanue was just censured by his board. He's no longer allowed to speak about the company. They'd love to get rid of him but they can't because of the structure of the company. Robert Unanue has been saying some horrible false things about our government and the election. He sounds crazy. They should get rid of him. Not only is this talk insane but it's horrible for business.

08/26/2020 Robert Unanue was going to speak at the RNC tonight!  His slot was cancelled.

UPDATE: 07222020 Immediately after Robert Unanue's statements about Trump sales ticked up a little from Trump supporters. The effects of the boycott are just starting to hit the company. Since then it turns out the company was in negotiations to sell part of the company. The buyer wanted to expandthen go public. Because of Unanue's actions that deal is now dead.

I used to out stock scammers. One "scam" is an entity buying a privately owned company that makes a profit with little debt. The buyers state they want to expand the company and go public to raise funds for the expansion. They end up taking on a lot of debt while the board, main employees get large salaries and bonuses. They go public and sell shares to raise funds. Generally the board, main employees get stock options which they can't sell instantly. There is generally another round of stock sales to raise more money. Main employees sell their shares into that pump and dump rally. Main employees, board try to take as much cash as they can out of the company. They cut corners to increase profits which reduces quality and quality control. Product goes down hill. Employees are not happy at reduced wages, income. Sales start to slide. Brand is damaged. Company is no longer profitable. They need more money and sell more shares. Share price starts to really tank because of dilution. Maybe they even do death spiral financing. They become a penny stock trading on the pink. Company goes bankrupt and reorganizes or goes private if the original owners have enough cash to buy it out. The original buyers make out like bandits. They go find another company to raid. The end.

Francisco Frank Unanue Casal

Robert Unanue's paternal grandmother was Carolina Casal Valdes born September 23, 1890 in Caldas de Reyes, Galicia, Spain died September 8, 1984 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Per her death certificate she appeared to die of alcoholism. Death certificate states in Spanish translated liver coma, diabetes, gastrointestinal bleeding. Someone filed to divorce Prudencio Unanue in New York in 1946. Carolina's parents were Antonio Casal Soto born 1858 in Galicia, Spain and Ulpiana Valdes Cajas born 1860 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. The father was an affluent educated attorney. Her parents were Ulpiano Valdes Pena 1833-1910 born in Spain and Carolina Cajas y Machado born in Puerto Rico.

Robert's mother was Eleanor Elizabeth "Betty" Cox born June 19, 1927 in Washington, D.D, died March 21, 1986 in Hackensack, New Jersey. Her family is basically from Ireland.

Robert's maternal grandfather was Thomas Andrew Cos 1896-1957 born and died in West Virginia. His maternal grandmother was Mary "Nellie" Tierney 1894-1947 born in Massachusetts and died in Washington D.C.

Robert married Muriel Ruth Fitzpatrick born 1956 in 1978. Her father is Dr. William J. Fitzpatrick. Together Robert and Muriel have six children, i.e. Anthony, Elizabeth, James, Muriel, Robert and William.

Below are some lawsuits. They spent years suing each other over inheritance and control of the company after Prudencio died in 1976.

In 1969 Charles Unanue the oldest son of Prudencio stated that Goya Foods had committed tax fraud. He stated "the social and tax responsibilities of my brothers and the millionaire (Goya companies) have been evaded." The article is titled "Goya, oh boya." In 1972 he agreed to relinquish his ownership in the company. In 1987 he sued for $100M. He ended up losing in 1998 and owed $6.9 million in legal fees. I assume that's why he went bankrupt. At that time his brother Joseph was worth $475M. Goya Foods sure makes a lot of money selling food staples to Latinos. Horrible they don't support Latinos.

2002 there was an arrest warrant for Charles Unanue and his wife who fled the country. It was based on fraud per a 2002 article in the St Louis Dispatch. Unanue sold his condo for $4.2M cash while he was not allowed to sell assets. Criminal family.

In the 1990's Ulpiano Charles Unanue Casal filed for bankruptcy. He and his wife Lilian hid their millions of dollars worth of assets. That's called bankruptcy fraud. They had $7M worth of luxury real estate in New York, Spain and Paris while they claimed to be penniless. They used shell companies and Swiss bank accounts to hide their assets. If his siblings hadn't sued him, we probably wouldn't have known about it. Very unscrupulous family. No wonder they support Donald Trump, birds of a feather. Miami Herald 1993 article.

As I read articles about the family they talk about the "Hispanic market" as if they are not a part of it. They feel they are white white but play up their Spain Spanish heritage when convenient.  They may even mention their Puerto Rican heritage at times. Coming from a Latino family there is a large divide between European Hispanics and Mexicans, South Americans. Euros are taller and lighter. True Mexicans, South Americans are indigenous which are generally shorter and darker. The Unanue family are Euros who sometimes act "superior" to indigenous people. In this case the Unanue family feel they are "white" like Trump. They just use "Hispanics" and "Latinos" to make money. The proudly state that "Latinos" spend a larger percentage of their money on food. Yes, because they're poor. Goya Foods brags about this like it's a good thing. It is for Goya but not for Latinos.

These are for Joseph Unanue.

Scott's paternal grandmother was a nurse who was in the military. Her parents were from Czechoslovakia.

Scott Borgerson attended De Soto Junior High then High School in De Soto, Missouri graduating in 1993. He graduated from the US Coast Guard Class of 1997 which he'd begun four years earlier in 1993. He was commissioned as an ensign in New London, Connecticut the same year. He was stationed on the Coast Guard Cutter Dallas in Charleston, South Carolina.
