Someone asked me to do an ancestry article about Art Blajos, Arthur George Blajos. Per Art Blajos he is "a self-described former assassin for the Mexican Mafia." Per records he was born Arthur George Blajos November 2, 1950 in Los Angeles, California. He states he comes from "a poor Mexican family." That's not true. Not only is Art an American citizen but so were his parents. He's not even 100% Mexican. His grandfather Ernest Blajos was from Greece.

Art's father was George Duarte Blajos January 25, 1927 Stanton, California died June 9, 1986 in Los Angeles, California. George Blajos was drafted into the army at age 18. He later enlisted in 1946 then was released in 1947. George married his wife Lupe around 1948. Together they had four children, Ernest 1949-1986, Arthur 1950, Carmen and Lucille.

Art's mother was Lupe Vidales May 17, 1931 born in Bellflower, died July 21, 2010 in California. Below is her obituary.

Lupe moved to Norco, CA in 1963 and was an employee of Norco Egg Ranch, from 1965-1979. Prior to her employment, Lupe was a devoted mother and housewife. She was an active member of the Corona Senior Center and enjoyed her time with members of the Stroke Club and often volunteered to assist the blind on the outings she enjoyed so much, despite her own physical challenges. During her life she enjoyed time with her 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Lupe was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank, sons Ralph Grijalva and Ernest Blajos. Lupe leaves behind a wonderful family, who will miss her dearly. Son Arthur Blajos and his wife Anna, daughters Lucille Rodriguez, Carmen Arroyos, step-daughter, Yolanda R. Zazueta and her husband Ed. Also survived by many nephews and nieces. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. in Amour Outreach, 517 S. Ramona Avenue, Corona, CA. Graveside Services Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. in Riverside National Cemetery."

Arthur Blajos paternal grandparents were Ernest D Blajos born in Greece 1880 died 1937 in Orange County. Below is his obituary.

"Blajos Rites Held Today STANTON, April 5 . —Funeral services for Ernest Blajos, 53. who died Thursday evening after an extended illness at his home here, were held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Boniface Catholic church in Anaheim. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery with the S. F. Hilgenfeld Funeral home in charge of arrangements. The deceased, a native of Greece, came to California 22 years ago the past 14 of which have been lived in Stanton. Three sons, James George and Tom, amd three daughters, Margaret, Edna, and Helen, all of Stanton, survive. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held Friday evening at the Blajos hall in Stanton."

Ernest Blajos ran a grocery store in Stanton, California. Earlier he was a carpenter. He was listed as "white" only speaking "Greek" when his wife was listed as "Mexican" only speaking "Spanish." He tried to open a pool hall but was denied a permit. In 1924 he was arrested for being a dead beat dad and not providing for his six children. He didn't even have $500 to bail himself out of jail. Both of his parents were born in Greece so I assume he was Greek. He had white skin and spoke Greek.

Art Blajos paternal grandmother was Margarite Duarte born 1894 in Mexico died 1933 in Orange, California.

Art Blajos maternal grandfather was Silvino Vidales born in 1888 in Mexico. He was a farmer and a rancher. Art's maternal grandmother was Maria Resendes born 1895 in Mexico and died 1939 in Mexico.

Art's mother Lupe divorced his father George before 1954 when Art was four years old. His older brother Ernest took on the second last name of his stepfather Frank Grijalva. Art's mother Lupe and Frank were married for 56 years. Frank was also in the military. He died in 1995.

Art Blajos states he started committing crimes as a juvenile. Juvenile records are sealed so I can't find out if that's true or not. The first time I see him involved in crime is trying to escape from the California Institution for Men in Chino April 1977. He failed then pleaded guilty to the charges. He was sentenced to state prison for a term of six to thirty months. He did not use force which is why the sentence was light.

The first real crime I see is December 10, 1978. He again "purported to be a member of the Mexican Mafia." Who tells the police you are a member of the Mexican Mafia? This reminds me of my ex who lied about being a Hell's Angel. Anyway, Arthur Blajos and three other men took a woman and two of her boyfriend's children hostage at a home in Three Rivers are. The girfriend called her boyfriend and told him they were being held hostage for ransom. The boyfriend was told he must go to his home with money in a few hours or they would kill his girlfriend and two young daughters. Boyfriend called the cops who went to the house. Blajos et al released the girlfriend 25 year old Debbie Ann Fonda but they wouldn't let her two small children leave. The children were Charlene Berry, age 11 and Liberty Berry, age 4. Art Blajos tried to run away from the house but he was caught. Art was arrested with Manuel Torres who was charged with murdering someone in Fresno in 1977. The four suspects were not armed but a handgun was found in the grass. The suspects were allegedly just trying to rob the house. There's another clipping that said it was murder on Dec 10 which I think must be a mistake. I searched all names and no murder or murder charges.

1979 Michael Moreno and Art Blajos were sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. This was in Tulare County, California. Art was charged with burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery. One of the children was hit behind the ear with a rifle during the incident. The article stated that Blajos and Moreno were awaiting trial in Los Angeles County on murder charges. It doesn't appear that Blajos was ever charged for murder. I checked the courts and see nothing not even an arrest in Los Angeles. He was ultimately released from state prison in 1984 because of over crowding per Art Blajos. That means he was only in California jail for maximum five years as an adult. In order to be released under overcrowding you can't be a violent criminal. That means Art was merely with the other people who were violent. I don't see him ever being in San Quentin. He may have been sent there for trying to escape another correctional facility. There are lists of people who were on death row. He was not on death row. It appears his only major crime is hanging out with three other men who kidnapped a woman and her small children. That's a pretty low and weak thing to do. Even to be involved in kidnapping a woman and young children is very low.

While in prison Art Blajos appealed his conviction for trying to escape prison. He pleaded guilty! Here is that case. It was affirmed.

Art filed for bankruptcy in 2006 in California. He stated he never filed an income tax return because he has never made any money. He lists real estate worth $280,000 and $36,000 in personal property. He owed $318,666 on the home. He stated he had no income on the front page then later states he makes $1,000 a month with expenses of $4,100 a month. He owned a house on Bunker Hill which he bought in 2005 almost at the peak with almost zero down. He owns $3,000 in jewelry. He owned two 2005 vehicles. He got a first and second on his home and two car loans. Why did these companies loan him money? He owes money on credit cards and a jeweler. He states he's a self employed minister for 12 years. His wife is the main breadwinner in the family. She did not file for bankruptcy.

His father was Seymour George Epstein born December 4, 1916 in New York, died December 14, 1991 in Cleveland, Ohio. His father died from an accident in Ohio. He had 12 years of education. He worked for Administration of Environmental Quality and Housing Programs per his death certificate. Per others he worked for New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. Jeffrey Epstein's maternal grandparents were Max Mortchel Stolofsky born abt. 1893 in Lithuania, died 1954, and Lena Berlin, 1895 -2004. Max Stolofsky was a chauffer, driver for a furniture firm.

Jeffrey Epstein has a brother named Mark Lawrence Epstein born July 14, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from the same high school as Jeffrey in 1971. Below is his graduation photo. Per his yearbook, "MARK EPSTEIN, math team captain, senior grade representative, senior orchestra, math office, senior council, english office, history office." Appears they were both great at math.

"Jeffrey Epstein’s mother, Paula, was the daughter of Max and Lena Stolofsky, who arrived in the United States as Lithuanian refugees. Relatives on that side of the family who remained in the old country would all perish in the course of Adolf Hitler’s campaign to exterminate European Jewry.

Epstein’s father, Seymour, was a manual laborer, like his father before him. Seymour’s parents, Julius and Bessie Epstein, had emigrated from Russia and landed in Brooklyn, both of them with eighth-grade educations. They lived in Crown Heights, where Julius owned a house-wrecking company.

Before landing a job with the city, Seymour had worked with his father.

They were kind people, says Epstein’s childhood friend Gary Grossberg. Seymour was there for him at a difficult time, Grossberg says. When Grossberg was young, his parents divorced, and his father moved out of Brooklyn. Seymour and Paula took Gary in. Often they referred to him as their third son. “Paula was a wonderful mother and homemaker,” Grossberg remembers, “despite the fact that she had a full-time job.”

“He was advanced,” Beverly remembers. “He tutored my girlfriend and myself in the summer. He taught me geometry in just two months.”

When Beverly thinks of Epstein now, she recalls gentler times-long strolls down the Coney Island boardwalk, roller-coaster rides, stolen kisses. “That last year in school, I think he kind of loved me,” she says. “One night on the beach he kissed me. In fact, our history teacher made up a mock wedding invitation for Jeffrey and myself to show to the class. That seems pretty inappropriate now. But back then, we all thought it was funny. Jews and the Italians, that was pretty much who went to Lafayette High School. They didn’t socialize that much. And though my mother was crazy about him, she told me Jewish boys don’t marry Italians.”

Through the haze of several decades, Beverly remembers Epstein as a kindhearted boy and something of a prodigy-a gifted young pianist as well as a math whiz.

“I was talking to my girlfriends the other day,” she says. “There is nothing but nice we can say about him. He is actually the reason I went to college.”

Beverly lost contact with Epstein over the years. But not long after Epstein’s fiftieth birthday, she got a call out of the blue.

“He had a photo of us on the beach,” she says. “A friend noticed it at his birthday party. And Jeffrey said to the friend: ‘I bet she has a big ass now.’ So Jeffrey called me and invited me to his home on 71st Street. We hung out. We reminisced. He was the same Jeffrey. A gentleman.”

The two never did speak again, but to this day Beverly sympathizes with her high school sweetheart.

“I feel so bad for him,” Beverly says. “That’s how much I liked him.”

Gary Grossberg was a year younger than Epstein and in the same class as Epstein’s kid brother, Mark, with whom Grossberg remains very friendly, though he hasn’t seen or spoken with Jeffrey in some time. Both brothers are good people, he says.

“Jeffrey’s a brilliant and good person. He is also incredibly generous.”

Grossberg says he’s talked to Epstein about “the problem in Florida.” As he sees it, Epstein “got carried away…perhaps he was hanging around with the wrong people.”

Grossberg wonders, too, if the things that made Epstein special contributed to his eventual fall from grace.

“He was a diamond in the rough, you see,” Grossberg explains. “People recognized Jeffrey’s brilliance very early on. But he had a gift for recognizing opportunities very quickly. He started buying properties in Manhattan, including 301 East 66th Street. He asked his brother-did Mark want to join him? He did.”

Grossberg himself has had his ups and downs. At one point, he worked in a building owned by the Epstein brothers. There, he says, a porter told him a story about a little-known side of Jeffrey Epstein. The porter’s wife, who lived in South America, desperately needed an organ transplant. Epstein paid for the operation.

“That’s just typical,” Grossberg says. “That’s who he always was, long as I knew him.”

“Lafayette was a city school,” says another old classmate, James Rosen. “It was functional. There was nothing special about it.”

James Rosen is a retired postal worker. He lives in South Florida now, but, like Jeffrey Epstein, he’d grown up in Sea Gate.

“There was a lot of volatility at Lafayette,” Rosen recalls. “It was a blue-collar area that was, at one time, 90 percent Italian. Then a small amount of Jews moved in, and there was anti-Semitism. The Italians didn’t want the Jews to be there.”

Black families were moving in, too, he remembers, and Hispanic ones. But he says most of the animosity was aimed at Jews.

“There were fights in the schools. They thought we were going to take over.”

But Epstein seems to have made friends easily. Even then, his buddies-who called him Eppy-could see he was special. While they hung out on the beach, Epstein played the piano. Did homework. Worked on his prized stamp collection.

Innocent times.

It’s the height of the Vietnam War. Students collide with college administrators. Hippies collide with hard hats. Kids with long hair collide with their parents. Jeffrey Epstein does not go in for any of that. At the age of sixteen, he’s taking advanced math classes at Cooper Union, an august institution in the East Village where Abraham Lincoln once spoke.

Thanks to a generous endowment, the school is tuition-free, though the application process is famously rigorous.

Epstein sails through it.

At Harvard or Yale, his accent would give him away. Epstein tawks like the Brooklyn boy he is. But Cooper Union is more open than any Ivy League school. It’s full of boys from Brooklyn, and, aside from his prodigious intellect, Epstein doesn’t stand out. He starts to make money by tutoring his fellow students. And in 1971, he leaves Cooper Union for the greener pastures of New York University, located a few blocks away. There, at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, he studies the mathematical physiology of the heart. But he never graduates from any college or university.

By 1973, Epstein is teaching at the Dalton School, a prestigious private school on the Upper East Side. Like Tavern on the Green, Grand Central Terminal, and the Century Association, Dalton is a New York institution-an elite K-12 rocket ship built for the children of New York’s ruling classes.

It’s not at all clear how Epstein, who has no college degree, ends up there.

And yet here he is, barely out of his teens and already a teacher of math and physics. “Go forth unafraid” is the Dalton School’s credo.

It’s a philosophy Epstein has adopted. For him, Dalton’s an excellent launching pad.

It’s nothing like Lafayette High School. The kids he’s teaching are rich-very rich. Their parents are extremely well connected. And despite Epstein’s outer-borough accent, he’s careful in his presentation. At any given moment, he’s one parent-teacher conference away from a whole new world of possibilities.

Because Dalton has an excellent student-to-teacher ratio, the parents get to know Epstein quite well. Before long, a Wall Street macher named Alan “Ace” Greenberg has taken a special shine to the young man who’s been tutoring his son Ted."

Who is getting $775/day to care for immigrant children in detention? Friends of Trump, big business, GOP

So I decided to do a little research into the $750/day figure I’d heard a private company was charging the US government per each detained migrant child. I wanted to, with my own eyes and brain, 1. verify this figure was accurate; 2. verify it was indeed a private company instead of a non-profit charging this, if true, as both have managed these detention centers (not that it really matters, ultimately, but stay with me); 3. try to figure out where this per diem sum — more than my monthly mortgage — was going, if not to even buy these tortured children toothbrushes and soap, which are about the cheapest basic necessities on the market, and which no individual has to replace every day.

$750/person A DAY should cover a lot of necessities, right? Right. So where the hell is all this money going? This can’t be true...

Well here’s what I found:

1. Yes, it’s a private company called Comprehensive Health Services (a subsidiary of Caliburn International). CHS operates the largest child migrant detention center, which is in FL and was already getting horrible press — especially from local FL papers — last year. But that didn’t matter, because CHS recently opened up a few more child prisons in TX, as it snagged a new government contract, despite many documented concerns about conditions there.

2. $750/day per child is an accurate sum of CHS’s CLAIMED operating costs, and what our federal tax dollars are paying for. A sum that was agreed to upon award of the contract. In fact, it was actually on the record as $775 last summer.

3. So where is this money going, you wonder, if not to soap and toothbrushes? Yeah, I did too, and it was quite easy to dig up. CHS, via Caliburn, is controlled by the private equity firm DC Capital Partners. For those of you who don’t know how private equity firms work, look it up, or ask me in the comments.

4. While I would not be able to find out vested shareholders in the DCCP portfolio, we do not have to assume they’re making some nice returns on these CHS operations and government contracts that line their pockets instead of covering even basic human needs for children. That’s clear, because why would a private company keep their costs down so low that they completely disregard humanity, even though they say they’re experts in “healthcare?”

PROFIT. FOR THEIR PRIVATE INVESTORS.

5. While I can’t name for you the private investors getting rich off of this humanitarian crisis, I can name for you members of the advisory board of DCCP, which approves everything in the portfolio.

First up: Trump’s former Chief of Staff, John Kelly, who was named to the board LAST MONTH, and photographed riding a golf cart into a CHS child prison. So with his own eyes, he saw the conditions there. And he was cool with it all, because hey, there’s money to be made for his rich investor friends, and maybe even himself! Who knows! Can’t say for sure, so feel free to reasonably assume what you wish. I’m just stating facts here.

Coincidentally, prior to joining Trump in the WH, he was also a paid lobbyist for DCCP. Hmmmm...

6. So next up on the DCCP board: Richard L. Armitage, former U.S. deputy secretary of state; Michael Corbin; former ambassador to the United Arab Emirates; Michael V. Hayden, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency and of the National Security Agency; Donald M. Kerr Jr., former deputy director of science and technology at the CIA; Anthony C. Zinni, former commander-in-chief of the U.S. Central Command and former U.S. Envoy to the Middle East; and Stephen F. Loftus, former director of the Office of the Budget for the United States Navy.

Are y’all seeing any patterns here?

7. Michael Hayden, last June, said on the record he sees “commonality” between Nazi Germany’s separation of children at concentration camps and the Trump administration policy that is forcing children to be separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

"I know we’re not Nazi Germany, alright. But there is a commonality there, and a fear on my part ... We have standards we have to live up to,” Hayden told CNN’s “New Day.”

It appears he left those standards at the boardroom door, along with many other individuals that dance with greed and corruption on the line of the private and public sectors COMPLETELY UNCHECKED.

8. Last month, the same month Kelly got his new gig, the government awarded CHS a brand new, hush-hush contract worth $341 million, even though there had been tons of pressure to close it due to its conditions.

THERE WAS NO COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE CONTRACT, and it happened under the radar.

9. Just two months before this, in March, CHS/Caliburn cancelled its IPO after registering with the SEC to sell $100m public shares. The CEO cited “market forces,” yet made it clear the company was thriving and growing.

I’ll leave you to come to your own conclusions about all of this, or do more research. And I’ll post a ton of sources in the comments for those who actually think this administration is “draining the swamp,” or who want to debate the semantics of whether these ”centers” can reasonably be called child concentration camps or not without offending some non-brown people.

And for those of you who think children don’t deserve the most basic human rights because they’re not American: There’s a special place in hell for you, and I imagine hell to be a whole lot like this situation.

For those of you who are cool lining the pockets of private citizens in DC with YOUR tax dollars while dirty, hungry, sick children live imprisoned and stacked in cages without even a dime of your money going to pay for soap and toothbrushes for these kids like it was supposed to: I’m ashamed to share this country with you as legal citizens, and I think you’re disgustingly dumb. We failed you, too, but at least you got to go to school when you were a kid, and didn’t spend childhood dying in a cage.

America, NONE OF THIS IS OK. WAKE UP.

3. Your concern has given me hope. Do your homework. Look into your group investment portfolios, pensions, etc. Know where your money is invested. Call your legislators. Do anything but freak out to the point of being unproductive and histrionic. DO ANYTHING BUT BE AWFUL TO EACH OTHER.
