UPDATE 07/31/2017: I posted this two days ago stating that the Mooch would probably be gone soon. He resigned, was fired today.

ORIGINAL: Unlike other members of Team Trump Anthony Scaramucci, the Mooch, told the truth about his family history and upbringing. His parents were born in the US. All of his grandparents were born in Italy.  Paternal grandfather is Alexander/Alessandro Scaramucci. Paternal grandmother is Celestina Marconi. Maternal grandfather is Augstino De Feo. I can't find a date of death yet for Maria Pasquale De Feo. I made these memorials today.

Anthony Scaramucci's father is Alexander Scaramucci b. 1935. His mother is Mary De Feo b. 1937. Anthony Scaramucci's siblings are David b. 1961 and Susan b. 1969. Anthony Scaramucci married Lisa Miranda and had three children, Alexander b. 1993, Amelia b. 1996 and Anthony b. 1999. Anthony Scaramucci married Diedre Ball. They just had a son James July 24, 2017. Diedre filed for divorce most likely because of Anthony's desire to be with Donald Trump in the White House. Even though I didn't finish the tree I decided to post it now before Trump fires Scaramucci.

UPDATE: 08/03/2017 Here is their official obituary from the New York Times. It's a double obituary.

"SCARPELLI--Glenn Charles

COLANT--Patricia JoAnn, 53 and 50, respectively, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017. They are survived by their two children: Isabella, 20, and Joseph, 19. Glenn was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on August 30, 1963. He attended The University of Akron where he captained the soccer team. He continued his education at the Logan School of Chiropractic Medicine. Patricia was born in Akron, Ohio on July 11, 1967. She graduated from Fordham University with a degree in Economics. The two were wed on December 30, 1993 in Rome at the Vatican and opened Madison Wellness Center, their chiropractic office, in Midtown Manhattan. The two shared a love for family, fellow practitioners, patients, and most importantly for one another. Their families are grateful for the support they have received and are overwhelmed by the love of the community around them. There will be a Memorial Mass to honor and celebrate their lives at the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, 84th and Park Ave. on Thursday, August 3rd at 10am."

UPDATE: Seems Glenn Scarpelli's father, mother had huge financial problems of their own. They filed for Chapter 13 in 2012. Very recently they got behind on their monthly payments. The bank was foreclosing on their home. The bank filed motion to lift the bankruptcy stay. The parents begged for a few months so they could catch up. That hearing was planned right before Glenn and Patricia killed themselves. Patricia had also turned 50 just days earlier. They gave a change of address for their business to the postman days before they killed themselves. Scroll down for the legal documents.

Turns out Glenn Scarpelli had just shut down his chiropractic office. Glenn and his wife jumped from their old office which they just shuttered. Their children were in their home which is on the third floor of a different building. This means the children didn't see the bodies in person. By now they've seen it all over the news. Just as bad.

ORIGINAL: Dr. Glenn C Scarpelli was born April 30, 1964 in Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey, USA. He died Jul. 28, 2017 at New York, New York County (Manhattan), New York, USA. Part of the suicide note read "We had a wonderful life." "Patricia and I had everything in life. ..Joseph, our extended family, friends...for each other. Our (sic) achilles heel... Our financial spiral became ...was the impetus for my/our...fail in practice or ask for ... We can not live with ...financial reality." The last part of the wife's suicide note read “our kids are upstairs, please take care of them." The kids were in their home not the office where they killed themselves.

Patricia Colant Scarpelli, Glenn Scarpelli, suicide

Patricia graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in 1985. Patricia graduated from Fordham University in New York. She received a BS in Marketing. Patricia was a planning manager at Sears and Ross Dress For Less. She married Glenn Scarpelli. Together they had two children, Isabella, 20 and Joseph, 19. Patricia worked with her husband a chiropractor in their office Madison Wellness Center in New York. Patricia was predeceased by her father Joseph Anthony Colant. She is survived by her mother, Margaret Ann Gin Colant, siblings Andrew Maxwell, Jim Colant, Gerard (Jo Shoup) Colant, Peggy (Mark Wishman), Helen (Michael Rothberg) and Christopher (Marcia) Colant. Patricia died at the age of 50.

Patricia's paternal grandparents were Mario Colant and Providenza Bonde.   Her maternal grandparents were James Ginn and Margaret Ann Gollogly Ginn.

In this case Glenn Scarpelli owed $58,000 in student loans. Student loans cannot be eliminated by bankruptcy. Neither can IRS or government liens or any judgment which involves malice.

U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Foley Square) CIVIL DOCKET FOR CASE #: 1:11-cv-01696-RJH HICA Education Loan Corporation v. Scarpelli, Assigned to: Judge Richard J. Holwell, Demand: $58,000, Cause: 28:1331 Fed. Question, Date Filed: 03/11/2011 Date Terminated: 05/31/2011, Jury Demand: None, Nature of Suit: 190 Contract: Other, Jurisdiction: Federal Question. This case was dismissed because it appears they evaded service. It was dismissed without prejudice meaning they could sue him again and they did. Here is the docket.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxE8KfVPjYF4ekJVRGFIZGMzVkk/view?usp=sharing

This case is about the same student loan. This was a government backed student loan. The government put an automatic judgment against him. Judge Buchwald is a very fair judge. I had her as my judge on a case which I won. This was a student loan. He owned the money. He didn't even try to fight either of these two lawsuits.

U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Foley Square), CIVIL DOCKET FOR CASE #: 1:13-cv-04670-NRB, United States of America v. Scarpelli Assigned to: Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald, Cause: 28:1345 USA Plaintiff, Date Filed: 07/08/2013, Date Terminated: 12/18/2013.. Jury Demand: None, Nature of Suit: 152 Contract: Recovery Student Loan, Jurisdiction: U.S. Government Plaintiff. Here is the docket.

He also owed around $213,000 (£162,000) to the federal government and almost $42,000 (£32,000) to the state in unpaid taxes dating back to 2003. Liens by the government cannot be dismissed in bankruptcy. They stay with you for life. All the government can take is a percentage of your "disposable income." This is the income left after you pay for mandatory items such as taxes, rents, food, utilities, medical, car, clothes ... If they do garnish your wages, they can only garnish a percentage of your disposable income. They could have survived financially.

I generally feel bad when someone kills themselves. In this situation I have mixed feelings. When you kill yourself in a very public, very violent manner, it means you feel wronged by the world and the gross suicide is payback against the world. The suicide notes are kind of like "look what you made us do?"  Perhaps they feel they should not have to pay the student loan and back taxes? The people who saw their bodies which landed face up said they will be traumatized for life. I hope their children didn't see their bodies.

I feel this suicide was even more hurtful to others as their children and parents are still alive. Yes, the kids are legally adults but they were living with the parents and going to college. Maybe Glenn tried to borrow money from family and they said no. This could be the payback? We don't have all the facts yet.

The family does have a history of issues. The father was the Mayor of Brick, New Jersey. By most he did a good job as Mayor. He resigned in 2006. He was caught in 2006 of receiving a bribe of $5,000 to approve development projects. He plead guilty and was sent to prison for 18 months. He destroyed his career and reputation for $5,000? Actually the plea deal says "at least $5,000" so it was more. I don't know if he lost his pension but you generally do if you're found guilty of a crime while in office. Below is Joseph Scarpelli's plea deal. The count was 18: 1951(a) & 2 INTERFERENCE WITH COMMERCE BY THREAT OR VIOLENCE - DOF: 1998 - 2003. Defendent sentenced to BOP for imprisonment for 18 months, (3) yrs. supervised release, Fine of $5,000.00 Special assesstment of $100. Voluntary surrender to institution on 1/28/08."

Joseph Scarpelli then went bankrupt Chapter 13 in 2012. I removed the social security number.

Joseph C. Scarpelli 634 Rolling Hills Dr , Brick, NJ 08724-1180 ,OCEAN-NJ SSN / ITIN: xxx-xx-. Scarpelli filed a motion for stay on his home.  Joseph and Dorothy still live there. It's a very nice home. I just realized the stay had a hearing just days before the son killed himself. Dad could not loan his son money if he wanted to. It seems he was being foreclosed upon by the bank. They were trying to take the house. Here is the motion to lift the stay so the bank could foreclose.

The couple replied that they accidentally sent in the wrong mortgage amount not realizing the monthly payment had increased. They stated they were unable to pay the back mortgage along with current mortgage. They asked for a stay for a few months. Maybe son felt bad he couldn't help his dad. Still. Here is their reply to the above motion.

It'll be interesting to find out what was the real situation. Were they just too embarrassed to tell the world they had financial issues and would have to move to a cheaper place, make their kids pay for their own education and downgrade their lifestyle? Their friends and family would not have cared. They'd rather see them alive. Plus, when you kill yourself in this very public manner, everyone will know everything. Sure, they'll be dead but their family will forever be tainted by this act.

Joseph C Scarpelli was a financial adviser,  Joseph C Scarpelli CRD Number: 5072325  Current Firm: Blackrock Investment Management, LLC in New Jersey. I don't know if this is one of the Russian money laundering holding companies which all had "rock" in them.

Dr Joseph Scarpelli's grandfather Joseph C Scarpelli Sr was a lawyer in New Jersey.

Who is Bo Benac, Michael Wenzel who dragged a shark behind a speed boat? Mary Cummins reporter

Bo Benac, Betsy Benac, manatee county florida animal cruelty animal abuse violation of Florida and federal marine mammal regulations, mary cummins, los angeles, robert benac, bob benac, michael wenzel, @bearjew428  @MICHAELWENZEL
"Three men in Florida apparently thought it would be hilarious to tie a shark by its tail to their speedboat and then make a video of it bouncing hard in the wake of the vessel as the men laugh. Afterward, they took photos of what was left of the poor shark’s mangled body.

One of these losers sent the video and photos via Instagram to Mark “The Shark” Quartiano, a famous local fisherman, with the message, “I think you’re going to get a kick out of this!”

Quartiano was not the least bit amused.

“I don’t know what they expected me to do. Laugh it off and say nice work? Oh no, that’s not me,” he told the Miami Herald. “I’ve been shark fishing for 50 years and I’ve never seen a disrespect for an animal my entire career that was that evil,” he told CNN.

Hoping his followers could identify the three men, Quartiano posted the video on his Instagram and Facebook page, where it’s been viewed over 280,000 times. He notified the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), which immediately launched an investigation into the incident.

“Since the investigation is active, we can’t confirm the identities of the individuals, and it is too early to speculate as to what, if any, violations took place in this incident,” the FWC stated July 26. “However, we would like to state that the lack of respect shown in this video for our precious natural resources is disheartening and disturbing, and is not representative of conservation-minded anglers around the world.”

If the shark was alive while it was being dragged – which could be the case, since one of the men in the video says, “Look, it’s almost dead” – this horrible act would have been especially egregious. Neil Hammerschlag, a shark expert at the University of Miami, told the Miami Herald that in addition to the trauma of being slammed repeatedly against the water’s surface, the shark would have suffocated from the lack of water moving through its gills.

And if the shark was alive, the men violated Florida laws that prohibit cruelty to animals. Unfortunately, the most they could likely be charged with would be a first-degree misdemeanor, with the possibility of up to only a year in jail and a paltry $5,000 fine.

Chillingly, it’s not unusual for fishermen to kill sharks by dragging them backward behind their boats so they drown, said Florida charter captain Nate Weissman. “But to do it at 45 miles per hour for sport, that ain’t cool,” he added. (Actually, doing it at any speed ain’t cool, but downright cruel.)

This wasn’t the first time that at least one of those three men abused wildlife and posted evidence of it, the Miami Herald reports. In photos that previously appeared on social media, one of these creeps dangled a spotted eagle ray from a rope and, with friends, held a pelican with its wings outstretched.

Although the FWC was aware of these and other disturbing photos, no animal cruelty charges were filed against the abuser, and the case was closed in January. Hopefully the commission won’t repeat that mistake, and all three men on that boat will be charged with animal cruelty.

On July 24, 2017, Robert Lee  "Bo" Benec, Michael Wenzel,  Spencer Heintz, and Nicholas Burns Easterling, posted a video of themselves dragging a shark behind their speed boat. Michael was the captain of the boat while Bo filmed the video.

For those who haven't seen the video of the shark being dragged behind the speed boat by the tail, here is VIDEO OF SHARK BEING DRAGGED. The shark is alive in this video though the men claim it's dying.

Here is his mother Betsy Benac who is a County Commissioner of Manatee County, Florida. She was born March 30, 1957. Her husband the father of Bo is Robert "Bob" Lee Benac Jr born July 11, 1952. Here is a photo of Betsy being sworn in while her husband Bob holds the bible.

Here is what the shark looked like after the dragging. They tortured it to death. They didn't kill it to eat. Sharks breath by going forward in the water. Shark wasn't able to breath being dragged backwards. Robert "Bo" Lee Benac III was born April 28, 1989 in Florida. He is 28 years old.

"The images also led Gov. Rick Scott on Friday to call for a review of state fishing regulations to prevent such behavior. “The brutality and disrespect shown to this animal is sickening and I am sure that you share in my outrage over these individuals’ heinous acts,” Scott wrote to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission."

It’s unclear if any laws were broken, FWC spokesman Rob Klepper wrote in an email, but “the lack of respect shown for our precious natural resources shown in this video is disheartening and disturbing, and is not representative of conservation-minded anglers around the world.”

The two men in the video already have a lawyer. The family is not giving any comments.

This isn't the first time Wenzel has been investigated for abusing wildlife. He previously held a live pelican for a photo and then a tern. These are federally protected animals. You cannot harass or harm them in any way.

"The Gulf Coast nonprofit complained to state wildlife officials, which prompted a federal investigation based on photos showing Wenzel grabbing a pelican and tern. The case was closed in January with no charges filed. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service spokesman Mark Davis said proving the cases can be difficult.

“All statutes require the government to prove the level of culpability, which varies by statute,” he said in an email. “It is often very hard to prove all of the elements based on one Instagram picture.”

In 2014, Michael Robert Wenzel born June 7, 1996, resident of Palmetto, Florida, was charged with three first-degree misdemeanors and pleaded no contest, according to Manatee County court documents. Adjudication was withheld. Charges included possessing alcohol under the age of 21; having a false I.D.; and carrying a concealed weapon (brass knuckles).

All involved and their family have killed their social media sites.

Ed Boks of G2 Gallery is about to be sued per email. He allegedly opened someone else's mail then smeared the guy's reputation

Ed Boks, Edward Boks, lawsuit, complaint, mail, venice, california, g2 gallery
UPDATE: 12/03/2017 Ed Boks was trying to take a better paying position with Best Friends. Best Friends did their research on Boks. He will most likely not be getting the position. Back in the mid '90's Boks used to talk about "no kill" at Best Friends events. There were so many complaints about him sexually harassing women that Best Friends had to get a minder to follow him around to make sure he didn't harass the women. They have not forgotten. People reminded them about Ed Boks just to make sure. Ed Boks is a sexual harassment, discrimination lawsuit just waiting to be filed. He's a liability to any company that hires him.

ORIGINAL: People have been wondering where in LA was Ed Boks working. It seems the people at G2 Gallery didn't even Google Ed Boks' name. If they had, they would have seen that he's been fired from his last four jobs. He was also sued along with the shelters where he worked for doing some really horrible things. I'm truly shocked anyone would hire him but he's working at G2 Gallery. His job seems to be opening the mail.

https://www.theg2gallery.com/about/staff/

A complaint was just filed against him with the US Postal Service. As usual Boks admitted to tampering with someone else's mail in writing. In my lawsuit against him he also admitted in writing to all the horrible things he did. He even apologized in writing then did the same things again.

Seriously, who in their right mind would hire Ed Boks? He's a true liability. What Boks wrote about himself on the G2 Gallery website is completely false. He was fired from those jobs because he did a horrible job, lied, did illegal things, improper things.

When Yavapai Humane fired Ed Boks they gave him no warning. They didn't want to tell him before they physically kicked him out and changed the locks because they feared he'd harm the shelter, people, website... When Ed Boks was fired from LA they weren't as smart. Ed Boks wrote and posted a forged city press release claiming he won the lawsuit which I filed against him. He lost that suit. It was settled in my favor. He posted the forged press release his last day on the job when he had access to the website. Boks also stole the Department's blog when he left. I set up that blog so I know.

After Yavapai fired Boks they were in such dire financial straits that they had to let go 50% of the staff. Boks financially damaged the shelter.

Who is Carlos A Hakas, Carlos Alberto Hakas who turned over a food cart in Hollywood? - Mary Cummins

Carlos A Hakas, Carlos Alberto Hakas, argentina, los angeles, california, food cart, hollywood, elotero, police, pushed over, destroyed, chuck hax, holly covella, benjamin ramirez, spanish, argentina, musician, union, event eleven, reality motion, asshole, romaine, indigent, evicted, eviction, lawsuit, judgment
Carlos A Hakas, Carlos Alberto Hakas was born June 23, 1977 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a musician now living in Hollywood, California. His girlfriend is Holly Covella. She is 39 years old and from Florida.

Here is a good summary of the incident.

"Altercation with a Street Vendor

On the afternoon of July 24, 2017, in the corner of Romaine and El Centro, as Carlos and his girlfriend, Holly Covella, walked their dog, they came across Benjamin Ramirez, a Mexican street vendor, who was legally operating his food cart on the sidewalk. Carlos asked the man to move the cart, which is legally positioned according to the permit, but the man refused.

Carlos and Benjamin began speaking to argue in Spanish about the position of the cart, with the man saying: "Ahí está el paso" ("You have a path"). Yet, Carlos refused to accept that as an answer so he told him, "Si no lo vas a mover el carro, lo voy a mover yo", ("If you're not going to move the cart, I'll do it myself").

Carlos persists in trying to get the cart to move, so he tells Holly to call the cops and then walks over to the cart. Benjamin takes chili powder from the cart and spews some of it to Carlos' face as a way to neutralize him and defend himself. Benjamin moves out of the way and captures Carlos on camera knocking over the cart to the ground.

Carlos then walks away to wipe off the chili powder from his eyes and his clothes. The man then grabs a metal bar kept inside the cart and tries to.

Moments when Carlos decides to knock over the cart.

strike Carlos, yet his Holly stops him by saying, "Don't you fucking try it!" The worker then says, "Me vale madre" ("I gives no fucks") and proceeds capturing on camera Carlos and refers to him as: "Este Racista" ("A Racist"). Carlos is then triggered by this and says, "I am not a racist you idiot! Yo no soy racista mongolico. Soy Argentino retrasado mental" (Trans. "I am not a racist you mongoloid. I am Argentinian you retard.").

Users on Social media have doxxed Carlos and have been sharing the video on Facebook, which has gotten more than 400,000 thousand views.

Former Altercations

According to Benjamin's father, Alex, who had an interview with a local reporter, says that Carlos has harassed his son in the past. It's been a total of four times that he has berated Benjamin for having the cart in the street with the last encounter resulting in a clash where Carlos knocks over the cart.

The police are now looking for Carlos according to news reports. They believe has had another similar encounter with another man from the same neighborhood that Benjamin works at.

Police Response

After the incident occurred, the police arrived to get a report and according to Benjamin's father, Carlos was able to talk his way out of getting arrested. Due to his ability to speak English, he communicated better than Benjamin about the matters concerning the incident, and therefore the police officer allowed him to go."

I see no criminal record in LA for Carlos Alberto Hakas. I do see he was evicted in 2004. He responded as an indigent party. This means he stated he has no assets or income. He has a judgment against him. The judgment was renewed in 2015. This means they are still going after Carlos Hakas for the money. I'll send the plaintiff and attorney his home address and contact info.

Real estate cycles and "gentrification." What they are and what they aren't - Mary Cummins, real estate Los Angeles

gentrification, real estate cycles, los angeles, california, mary cummins, real estate appraiser,
Steve Lopez of the LA Times wrote an article today about the caliente hot topic of "gentrification." His article is titled "Protesting a coffee house over gentrification fears is silly - and misses the point of L.A." While I don't always agree with Lopez I do agree with him on this issue.

Lopez' article is in reaction to another article by Ruben Vives from last week. That article is "A community in flux: will Boyle Heights be ruined by one coffee shop?" Here is a quote from a gentrification activist protesting the coffee shop, “Don’t contribute to the displacement of the people in the community right here in Boyle Heights. Our rents are going up because of the art galleries. Please do not cross the picket line!”

If you can believe it there are now "gentrification activists" who go around protesting and attacking new businesses in their neighborhood. They stupidly believe the new businesses are causing their rent to go up. Things could not be further from the truth. The true relationship is the inverse.

The word "gentrification" is causing some uninformed violent racists to start attacking new businesses that open up in shuttered store fronts in run down parts of their neighborhood. The definition of "gentrification" is "the process of renovating and improving a house or district so that it conforms to middle-class taste.” Gentrification is fixing up a run down home in a run down neighborhood. In the world of real estate this is called "revitalization" or "rehabilitation." Below are the four basic real estate cycles.

1. Growth-  When improvements are made and property demand expands.

2. Equilibrium or Stability- When the property undergoes little change.

3. Decline-  When the property requires an increasing amount of upkeep to retain its original utility while demand slackens.

4. Revitalization or Rehabilitation- Which may occur if the demand increases, serving to stimulate property renovation.

Here’s a little flow chart I made ;-)
Here's an article I wrote about this on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/notes/cummins-real-estate-appraisals/normal-real-estate-cycles-mary-cummins-real-estate-appraiser/1441397429245342/

These violent uninformed "activists" think if they put a new coffee shop out of business via harassment and threats of violence their rents won't rise. Wrong! Their rents will still rise and they'll probably be arrested.

The force behind their rents rising is revitalization of the area and buildings. Some parts of LA are very expensive to live right now. Rent is $3,000 a month for an apartment. These people would like to rent or even own something more affordable. For this reason they are spreading outside of the more expensive areas to more affordable areas such as Eagle Rock, Boyle Heights and Glassel Park.

Leonardo Vilchis director of Union de Vecinos stated about the coffee house "It's a threat to local businesses and it's one more sign of gentrification that we need to defeat otherwise this neighborhood is going to end up just like Highland Park." Oh no, Highland Park! I hear they even have a Starbucks ;-)

Leonardo Vilchis here wants the neighborhood to stay run down with lots of retail vacancies, high crime, homeless sleeping on the street, graffiti on every property, over grown lawns, trash dumped on the streets and hypodermic needles in the few parks. Vilchis is against grocery stores like Ralphs opening back up in these areas because coffee shops may soon follow. Ralphs and other big stores left these run down area years ago because of crime and blight.

These "gentrification activists" state that they will lose their culture if they can't afford the rent in the neighborhood. They state it's an attack on their culture. Gentrification has nothing to do with culture. First of all which culture are we talking about here? There are many cultures here already. The activists think the new people want to destroy the Hispanic culture. That won't be happening as most in LA are Hispanic. Are they going to throw their culture out the window? I'm not.

Another thing Boyle Heights wasn't always Hispanic. There were Asians, Armenians, Jews, Russians....to name a few. And before Boyle Heights was Boyle Heights it was part of Mexico. Before that it belonged to native American Indians. What about their cultures? The Americans killed most of the Indians, most of the rest died of diseases we gave to them and the remaining few were displaced onto reservations. No one is talking about doing that to people in Boyle Heights today yet the activists are acting as if they were.

Why does Vilchis want the neighborhood to remain a dilapidated dump? Because he wants cheap rent for himself and his friends. Only the tenants have a problem with this revitalization. The property owners are happily selling their properties for great profit. Some aren't selling but they're enjoying the new stores and improvements. Vilchis says this is all caused by "greedy" developers. Maybe Vilchis should attack and threaten the property owners selling their land for big "greedy" profit. It'd make just as much sense.

If these activists want cheap rent, they need to take different actions. As the art district went luxury lofts the real artists left for cheaper run down lofts in Santa Ana and Long Beach. Cheap rent is just a move away. These areas are cheap because they are still dilapidated with no coffee shops or big chain grocery stores. If you want super cheap rent, move to the slums of Detroit. Of course you'll have no work or stores.

I do agree we have a problem  with lack of affordable rental units for poorer people in LA. I've written many articles about this. Part of the cause  is lack of units. Because LA land is so expensive now developers are only building luxury apartments. We need type B, C buildings in more affordable parts of LA away from the core but near public transportation. We need the city and anti-development lobbyists to work with developers to build the units the city needs. Instead anti-development lobbyist NIMBYs fight ever building permit and development. It must be profitable for the developer or they won't do it. Attacking the developers also doesn't solve the problem. It just makes developers never want to build in affordable areas if they will be attacked and I don't blame them.

Revitalization throughout Los Angeles can't be stopped by a band of criminal vandals. Revitalization should not be stopped. It's good for people and the city as a whole.

Before people start attacking me I'm part Mexican. I'm also not a developer, builder, flipper or coffee shop owner. I'm just a real estate appraiser who watches and comments on the real estate market as it happens.

Knightscope security robot commits suicide in Washington D.C. building complex - Mary Cummins

Early this morning the body of Knightscope security robot named "Steve" was found submerged in a fountain in the complex. The people interviewed stated that he appeared to be happy within the last few days. No one knew what could have possibly motivated Steve to take his own life. A few did question why a fountain would have steps leading down into it that any robot could easily roll into. After Steve's body was removed over 20 Roombas were also found at the bottom of the fountain. Knightscope was contacted for a comment. Their response was "Security robot, yes. Submarine robot, no. Got it. - K5."

Steve is an "Autonomous Data Machines (ADM) which is an autonomous robot that provide a commanding but friendly physical security presence. The K3 and K5 gather important real-time, on-site data through their numerous sensors, which is then processed with advanced anomaly detection software to determine if there is a concern or threat in the area. If so, an event is created with an appropriate alert level and a notification is sent to the proper authorities through the Knightscope Security Operations Center (KSOC), a browser based user interface."

Steve actually knows exactly where he is at all times. "Each ADM operates within a predefined geo-fenced area. And much like a human, a machine does not rely solely on one sensor to determine its current location and plot a directional path. It utilizes data from multiple sensors – LIDAR, GPS, inertial and wheel odometry sensors – to develop a complete picture of its environment and determine a position within those boundaries. The ADM then carefully navigates, fully autonomously, along a random path seeking to thwart any evildoers."

Looks like back to the drawing board so ADMs can be designed to not walk off cliffs or into pools. Shouldn't they be able to detect the edge of stairs or a cliff if they were made to detect "danger?" I also believe that fountain with those steps is very dangerous. It maybe needs a child proof pool fence. Even Roombas have been able to detect steps for over five years. He's one in action not falling down the stairs. I think Knightscope's security robot is not really useful or practical. It looks like some billionaire 30 year old's toy.

From the company: Knightscope was originally founded in 2013 in response to the tragic events at Sandy Hook and the Boston Marathon. The founders believed that with a unique combination of hardware and software, they could greatly reduce crime… by as much as 50%!

Just did a tiny bit of DD. Company is bleeding money and begging for investors. This silly robot costs $60,000/year to lease it. They don't sell them. For $60,000 a year you could have a real security officer.

It gets worse. This 300 lb robot ran over a child.
